When do 16 models become available?
Dealers will start taking orders for the 2016 F-150 this summer, and the truck will go on sale this winter, said Ford spokesman Mike Levine.

Interesting that it will actually come out in the first of the year. I guess I remember the new models coming out in the fall of the year before. I'm thinking of holding out for a '17 to hopefully get a 10-speed but if it won't be available until 2017.1 that kind of throws my timing off a bit.
Ford is way off on F150's the last several years. Really since the 2009 model year changeover, they recovered by 2013, then 2015 was off the charts "off", and they are still catching up apparently. They apparently made zero in some configurations (SuperCab Long Bed's) and few in other configs (standard cab long bed and super crew with 6.5' bed)
Maybe they will catch up sometime...
Glad I didn't order a truck back in July, they told me the order bank for 2015's for SuperCrew's with 6.5' bed had closed and if I placed an order, it would be for a 2016. So I would have been waiting for 9 months or so for my truck... luckily I found one that was "close enough" and have been happy

They started building 2016's in October, I believe the early ones were SuperCrew Short Beds, but I'm now seeing SuperCrew Long Beds in stock too:
