My '12 is capped at something close to 95 mph. I doubt the '15's would be much different.

All factory F150s will be governed to somewhere around the 100 MPH area. The factory tires aren't good for much more than that. It's also said the factory two piece driveshafts get too close to critical speed if they're spinning much faster.

I am curious how fast is too fast for a pickup truck. The dynamics are really frightening at those speeds for something with a high center of gravity that is also not designed for even, lateral drifting should it start heading any way but straight.

95 seems reasonable, no? I was willing to sprint my M3 and S5 up to the 120mph mark on a perfect road surface with nobody around, on Michelin Pilot Sport tires, but not for sustained travel.

Yeah, I don't think you should ever outrun your tires, brakes or design specs. I have had my 535i to 135-140 on really smooth road for a short distance. But the tires are rated for 155+, the cars factory limiter is 155, and it handles and stops well. I am sure a f150 with the limiter removed could do 120+. But do you really want to find out you can't stop, can't turn or the tires can't hold up at that speed. I don't. That's just my $.02.

The F150 is wide enough that it is pretty stable at higher speeds. It can change lanes easily at triple digits. Of course, if you go ham and jerk the wheel you could get the back end to step out. Then it would all come down to what your tires hit. Something solid and with a lip could get it to start rolling.

Those German cars were made for the Autobahn. They can run at 150+ till the gas tank is empty.

If you are looking to drive faster than 95 mph, cancel your order and order a Mustang.

The first time you are enjoying the sound of the engine revving and you are thinking about how the speedo needle will break off, then all of a sudden the power dies off like the traction control kicks in, you'll wonder what happened.

Yeah its not a Lightning and weighs so much more when you screw up and hit someone on the highway be prepared to go to prison for manslaughter that heavy of a truck going that fast is a horrible idea the handling and suspension is not that safe to be hauling that kind of ***. Not trying to be a party pooper. I had a 2014 Mustang and would make your 120 look silly slow. I went back to the truck in realization its not worth the Tickets, and its not worth taking someones life going that fast. Then there is the " well theres a time and place" yea your right but unless your a total square your going to punch on the highway you know it will be to tempting to stay out of the gas i know for fact ford makes nice vehicles drive slow enough so everyone can jaw drop over them
