15 f150 top speed
hello to all
i am wondering if the new 150 has a governor on it like my 14 f350 plat diesel top speed on my diesel is 93 mph also if not i was wondering if one specific engine with reared gears will be faster than others i have 34 more days till mine is delivered to c.t ever though i live in m.a thats were i ordered my truck |
My '12 is capped at something close to 95 mph. I doubt the '15's would be much different.

All factory F150s will be governed to somewhere around the 100 MPH area. The factory tires aren't good for much more than that. It's also said the factory two piece driveshafts get too close to critical speed if they're spinning much faster.

I am curious how fast is too fast for a pickup truck. The dynamics are really frightening at those speeds for something with a high center of gravity that is also not designed for even, lateral drifting should it start heading any way but straight.
95 seems reasonable, no? I was willing to sprint my M3 and S5 up to the 120mph mark on a perfect road surface with nobody around, on Michelin Pilot Sport tires, but not for sustained travel. |

If you are looking to drive faster than 95 mph, cancel your order and order a Mustang.
|
The first time you are enjoying the sound of the engine revving and you are thinking about how the speedo needle will break off, then all of a sudden the power dies off like the traction control kicks in, you'll wonder what happened.

I am sure a f150 with the limiter removed could do 120+.
