Isn't that tranny coming in the Raptor late this year? I'd be surprised if the tranny came in standard production before the 2017 model year in late 2016. Strictly a guess by me.

Why get rid of a perfectly good truck with only 21k on it? I'm always a bit leery of buying a new vehicle in the first year of a major change.

It's going to be a while before you will see the 10 speed in anything but the Raptor, and even that is going to be model year 2017.

^^^This!

But I am more than a bit leery of buying the first year of a new design.

Unless you have so much money you just don't know what to do with it, I would keep your current truck but I hate making payments.

Got a link to where you got that info? It doesn't sound right. The 6.2 is gone from the F-150 and there's no mention of the base 3.5 NA V-6. The word here, if you read other threads, is the 10 speed will be an exclusive in the 2017 Raptor, which will also have an uprated 3.5 Ecoboost.

First article was from last August, and too much conjecture. "Word on the streets suggests". Second article is even older, last July. You quoted the 3rd article from last December, and from what we know now, it's incorrect.

An article written in January, right after the 2015 Detroit auto show:

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...-10-speed-auto

The new Raptor is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This marks the first use of the long-anticipated 10-speeder Ford and General Motors Company [NYSE:GM] have been developing for trucks. It may eventually find its way into the Mustang as well.

"Retains real wheel drive." As if there's a risk it's going away. Who wrote this?
