Does the truck have a traction lock rear? If so and they changed the fluid, they may not have put any or enough friction modifier in the new fluid.

What Roadie said. Limited slip differentials need friction modifier. What is the AXLE code on the door jamb sticker?

So, your truck has a 3.73 ratio rear diff with a clutch type traction lock rear. The noise is most likely coming from the clutches not having the correct viscosity fluid to allow the clutches to slip when turning. Buy a bottle of friction modifier from Ford and add it to the diff. You may want to ask the shop what fluid they put into the diff. If they weren't smart enough to add the modifier, they may not have been smart enough to use the correct fluid.

The required fluid in a traction lock Ford rear is 75W140 full synthetic gear lube and a bottle of Motorcraft XL-3 friction modifier. You would THINK that if a dealer did the repair, they would have used the correct fluids. Take it back.
