I was going at a low speed in a parking lot and it seemed like it came on, this happen every time there is ice and salt

Not all the way, I am ignorant on the matter. I never turned it on..I am reading as I type this

 

Manual doesn't state it will automatically turn on

 

Mine doesn't. I have to select it.

Does anything light up on the dash? Are you sure its just not the traction control kicking in? Either way, both let you know when it activates, on my 2010 anyway.

 

Yes, the symbol lights up on the dash and it's not the traction control its the differential. It won't shut off now. I took it to the shop and will know later if it's just the switch or something major (hope not, just bought the truck)
