tailgate got crashed

Hello Forum,
Loading my tractor on trailer last nite, I had a problem. Trailer was not engaged on ball, it came loose and popped up when I drove tractor on trailer. I now have a significant dent and crease in my metallic sand tailgate. So I am gonna call the local junkyards tomorrow and look for a replacement. My truck is a 2011 'gold' (metallic sand) and has a backup camera. Does the forum know what years are interchangeable?
Thanks,
Mike Kelly

Tailgates from 2009-2014 are the same, you may have to transfer your camera over to the new gate if it doesn't have one. Also move your lock cylinder from the tailgate handle over so you don't have to carry 2 separate keys.

I agree 2009-2014

Things to consider as far as optional equipment:
Back up camera
"man step"

Thanks forum for the help. Talked to my neighbor and he is gonna fix/paint it. No need to find a junkyard tailgate.

Just a thought .... not something everyone would do I know.

My '07 had one of those dents in the tailgate .... at least I suspect that was what happened. I loved the truck and so bought it just the same as it only showed in certain angles .... and then I wrestled with repair costs / paint match questions .... and then it hit me one day. I fixed it August 2010 and have been happy with it ever since.

Still there in 2016:

The chromed metal emblem was 3.25" X 3.04" and the dent is deepest just south west of Dallas / Ft Worth by my rekoning. I just used a double layer of tape in deepest part.

I live in Virginia but I was born Texan .... and live near Sam Houston's birth place .... so it pleased me.

That's nice work, tbear, and, a brilliant solution! Good thing the State you wanted to use was not Rhode Island!

Thank You ..... and you are so right! R.I. would've looked more like maybe .... some "belly button lint" in there?
I got the idea one day when I saw a F-150 with a "Texas Edition" emblem on it's TG.

Good Deal!
I likely would have done the same thing .... if I had such a neighbor!
