Tailgate F150 Badge removal

Does any one know if there are alignment holes in the tailgate of a 2014, behind the F150 Badge

I installed 09-14 fender and tailgate emblems on my truck and yes, they all had alignment pins for the holes.

So just use fishing line to separate the double sided tape from the fender/tailgate, there is nothing holding these "Alignment pins" into the fender?

Fishing line and a heat gun if you have one. It helps with the glue.

If you don't have a heat gun a blow dryer will work as well.

The F150 tailgate emblem has a tab w/ retaining clips on each end so the fishing line method doesn't work very well. I put strips of masking tape around the emblem (to protect the paint on the tailgate) and use a plastic trim removal tool to pry the emblem off.

It looks like the badge is 2 piece? Does the chrome separate from the black lettering?

Yes it separates.
However, not all F150 fender badges are 2 piece. Most of the newer ones are, but the fender badges on my 2011 were 1 piece.
