It's a steal. The fact that I couldn't find a basic xlt scab for under 30k makes that price ridiculous.. I'm jealous

its got a ton more options than i have, and priced really close to what i paid. Hard to pass up IMO.

Have they made an trade in offer on your truck? I'd see what they can do and go from there. If they way low ball you than it might be worth walking from the deal.

Coy I wouldn't be too concerned about any issues with the 2015 as most of the changes are cosmetic. The deal they gave you on the 2014 sounds decent enough. I went to a friends dealership website as I know his code structure but he only had one truck with the same package in black plus it was 4x4 with the offroad package, electronic rear axle and a few other goodies but also had the HIDs and Leather. His listed out for 45+ and he has it for 35+change. You can buy it cheaper over the phone but he doesn't have the room for 15 grand discount. He can maybe get you another 3 grand at most. Best part about your deal, the dealer is fairly close, apparently wants your business, and you can always chat with the service manager direct if need be. As you already know, the dealer is just as important as the money deal. If you think you want a new truck and avoid the hassle of fixing a clunk, I'd probably jump on this one in Brady. Best of luck with it......and let me know how you like yer new 5.0.

Was that Jim Bass Ford in San Angelo? I didn't like them either when I was visiting.

Did you try Arrow Ford in Abilene? Their sales and service always treated me right when I lived there. I'm looking at a 2014 XLT SCab 4x4 Off Road pkg truck locally, $41,700 MSRP, and their sale price is $37,400, basically incentives and nothing else.

I have looked at the GMC trucks locally, and I am really tempted to try them again. Although, I have always been a Ford owner. I am not sure if I can purchase three new F150 SCab trucks in a row. The past two have had the same issues at about 42,000 miles.

Dealer service is a difficult job to have. I'm sorry you are having issues. Don't be afraid to purchase a 5.0L truck with 3.55 gears. I love the powertrain, and I am getting 21 mpg in combined driving, when I keep my foot out of the go pedal, which is sometimes hard to do with that great exhaust note..

Arrow Ford is a choice for service, Ive never heard anything bad about them. A friend told me last night the reason for the bad service around here is cause of the oil field, it is booming and all the dealerships are catering to them and leaving the other guys to find somewhere else to go.. Its all about the $ and the oilfield companies pays good to get their trucks back on the road. Which that makes since why the Dealership yesterday was packed with white ford pickups.

He said San Angelo, Robert Lee, Abilene, Midland, Odessa is going to be hard to get in and get work done in a timely manner. The farther east i go the chances of getting a good dealership is better. Brady is East so i think im going to stick with them.

This 5.0 that im looking at has the 3.31 rearend in it, I know it will be good for fuel mileage. Its just going to take some time getting use to the v8 again. The eb has so much torque down low and being tuned makes it even better. Im about to leave the house and head to the dealership to see if we can make a deal. Going to be interesting what they offer on trade in, Im kinda thinking like Patrick and have a feeling they may lowball the trade.

Man, I'm sorry to see this happening. I didn't think anyone on here loved their truck as much as you. I hope everything works out in your favor, Coy, whatever the end result may be.

On the plus side, if you sell your tuner, I may be interested.

$14k off without even haggling is awesome, but I too was thinking a lowball on trade. Real interested to see what they'll do for you out-the-door.

If it's a true $14k off, or if they'd take a POS 1995 something in trade also, that's a steal. It's also got just about every option for an XLT.

Personally, I would wait until 6pm on July 31st to show up at the dealership, and make them work hard to sale you a new truck.

As mentioned above, $10, 000 to 12,000 off MSRP is pretty darn good, but do not expect a great trade-in amount.

My son lives in Sweetwater, and recently mentioned the latest oil boom.

Well made the drive today to the dealership to check out the 14 F150, it was very nice with a crap load of options. The salesman told me to take it for a spin while they looked over my truck to see what they could do trade in wise.

When coming into town there is a nice little hill before the speed limit drops, in the Eb i went up it at 70mph with cruise on and it stayed in 6th gear the whole way. So i drove the 5.0 just a little piece out of town and turned around and got up to 70mph set the cruise and started climbing the hill, about a quarter of the way up it was starting to lose some speed then it down shifted to 5th then down to 4th to stay at 70mph. To me that was strange cause the eb pulled the hill so effortlessly.

Went on to the dealership and they were still doing the number's so i walked around and every 2wd 5.0 they had was the 3.31 rear end. They also had 2 5.0s with the 3.55 but they were 4wd. So i walked over to the used side and found a 12 model 2wd with the 3.55 and asked if i could take it for a spin.. they said no problem and i went back to the hill, got up to 70 and it held 70 and 6th gear until the top of the hill then downshifted to 5th.

Seemed alot stronger than the 14 with the 3.31's. So that had me thinking maybe the problem was just cause the truck was new and not broke in therefore the transmission may have been shifting a little funny and less hp with a new engine.

I asked the salesman if i could take one of the new 4x4s out. Once again he said no problem, this truck has 11 miles on it and hit the hill at 70 and it did exactly the same as the 12model, held 6th all the way until the top then downshifted to 5th.

I started thinking that i wont be happy with the 3.31s so decided i was just going to forget about it and keep the Eb. I walked in and they had come up with some numbers.

With TTL on the 14 XLT was $32,618 and offered me 24250 on my trade in with an out the door price of $8,368.. It seemed like a good deal but told the salesman i just wouldn't be happy with that truck and I was just going to wait until the 2015s come out. He said that is very understandable and since you are going to wait lets get your truck in for an appointment and get it fixed. So they ordered me a new radio and said when it comes in next week they will fix the rearend also. I told him that i was out of Warranty on the bumper to bumper and would have to pay the deductible for the warranty work on the radio, All he told me was don't worry about it we have you covered.

I looked around the lot for Ebs but the ones in my price range were the exact same package as my truck, so wouldnt have accomplished much getting one.

It looks like i finally found a good dealership that cares and thats pretty damn awesome. They know they will have a new customer when the 15s come out.

Overall it was a good experience but the 5.0 and 3.31s are just not for me, it felt like my Eb had 150 more horsepower and 300 more ft lbs of torque than the 5.0 , well maybe not that much but there was a big difference for sure. So any Texans that want's a good dealership head on over to Heart of Texas Ford.
