Im about ready to say bye bye ford.
Im about ready to say bye bye ford.
So i have this drive line clunk for the last 25k miles and the local dealership don't want to fix it right, also just recently the radio is freezing up and i have a small buzz under the dash. The dealership here does nothing but makes Excuses and Lies and i refuse to go back there.. Today i made another appointment with a small town dealership and drove the 35 miles this morning. Pulled up at 830 and the little shop was totally packed and i was told there was no way they could get the truck in. So that was 70 miles wasted.
What has happened to Customer service these days?
I am almost to the point of selling the truck and going with another brand, just so i don't have to deal with the sorry Ford dealerships around here.

How sure are you that other brands have better customer service?
I'm only asking because I really don't know. I've only ever owned Ford trucks. Seems like quite a few people leave the "other" sides in favor of Ford for similar reasons. Maybe it's not a Ford issue, but rather people issue.
That said, it sucks that you are having these issues. I think the big reason you are getting the run around is because dealerships don't make money on fixing these issues. They make money selling vehicles. Everything else is going to be secondary.
Also, find out how big your dealership is on reviews. I know mine will absolutely freak out like the world is crashing down around them if you give them anything less than "absolutely satisfied" on each visit. The last service advisor I spoke to said that they literally have their jobs threatened should they be the service rep for a negative review. So far, my interaction with my dealership has been just fine. My dealership also wins awards from Ford almost every year and they proudly display 100+ trophies on the wall in the lobby.

I dont know, i love my truck but if the sobs cant or wont fix these small problems then what's the point in having it? I feel that my 3 year old could do more then these idiots around here.
I too am fed up with the dealership acting like im making things up. or really bugging them 24-7
I always wait until my oil changes. tell them issue-x has been happening for a while now. and what do they do. tell me they cant reproduce the issue. well now I have started taking video of the issues. I have also contacted the FORD reps on here as they also reached out in my times of frusteration.
purchasing two NEW vehicles a couple months apart from each other, and then also sending 5 people to purchase new vehicles there. well. that should count for something.
I have an oil change coming up, I plan on once again bringing up the issues I have been reporting from 17K miles on. now I have 40. and they are telling me I might be in my extended warranty period.
here are a few.
* drive line clunk reported at 15K miles, told they could not reproduce. waited until it really started to make a noise where I knew rear end was about ready to go. replaced carrier bearing for pinion gear, pinion gear, and ring. e-locker is working.
* drivers side door speaker- at times does not work. they replaced speaker.even when I told them I had a few friends need some wiring replaced. now its still not as loud or doesn't work.
* rear sliding window, switch needs to be replaced. usualy get caught trying to monkey with switch in the rain to get it closed.
* clunk is back. they are saying this is normal. where the drive shave hits the stub shaft for pinion into rear end. they Loctite it and tell me that's all they can do. all the popping and creaking sounds like im driving a 20yo truck.
* starting around 27K turning on the truck after its been sitting a bit. and smells like cattle. literally. smells like poop.
* NAV usually has be driving 500 feet off of the road im on. they tell me to reset to factory to fix. well. isn't that nice.
don't sell it if you cant support it folks..
hope they get to the bottom of your issues. I can tell you however. most dealerships don't really care aside from us complaining to FORD and it then hurts their standing with them. at times involving the lotto for new specialty vehicles. like SVT branded vehicles. and then they start kissin butt..
again. good luck. I would also reach out to FORD persons on here if you have not already

I called a dealership in Brady Texas 87 miles away and talked to them a little bit about my issues. The service advisor seemed real nice and was in no hurry to hang up with me. I asked if they had to keep it do they have loaners or rentals so i can get back home. He said we cater to our customers and if the vehicle is bought here we give you a loaner for whatever issue comes up. But if you didnt buy the truck from us we dont offer loaners. They did for a while and the loaners were always out and their repeat customers would come in and not have a ride.. Makes since to me. They also provide a lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as you own your vehicle at no cost.
So now im wondering if it may be worth getting a new f150 and starting all over and sticking with this dealership from now on.. The reviews are great.
They have a 14 Screw Flame Blue XLT 302a package with leather and hids.. Stickers for 42k and Asked for the bottom price and he told me 29k. Now this has me thinking if its worth it. Mine just rolled over 36k this morning.
Mine should be worth atleast 25k trade in.
Decisions decisions
Only bad thing is its a damn ol V8

Dont know if its worth it or not.. I really want a 2015. Unless i get the 14 for a few months then trade that off for a 15. But that doesnt make much since either.
I talked to dad earlier and he looked at me and said for God sakes its a damn truck not a lincoln. Its gonna make noises

and I'm like it shouldn't do that its not right.. I guess its my OCD.Honestly COY if you can get threw the next few months with the truck you have, which seems to be good to you besides the knock, and then get a 2015 from the dealership you called and you should be all set.

Sucks the dealership by you are a waste of space. The one by me is the same way. They treated me like crap when I was searching for a new truck. Its like they didn't think I was serious. I may not have bought a brand new truck but if they woulda worked with me on a new truck I probably would have bought it.
The service department wasn't any better. My girlfriend (EX now) brought her Focus there to get the brakes checked and oil change (its was a special) They fixed the front brakes that were bad, but since the rear tires would not come off they didn't bother to look at the brakes. Few months later her brakes seized up on here and she had to be towed to the shop. I was PO'ed and told her to complain to the dealership, but she hates confrontation so she let it be.
That's what my dad always tells me too,

After thinking about it, its pointless to get a 14 and trade it for a 15 just a few months later.
My truck is fine even though it has these small problems, not like its going to break down on me tomorrow or anything like that. One thing I am thinking about is my 13 is paid off and has 36k on it. The more miles i put on it and the older it gets the value goes down. Where as now i can get in the 14 for probably 7k.
Im also liking the liffetime powertrain warranty the dealer is offering.
Maybe im just over thinking all of this
Im looking at it 2 ways.. Either get the 14 and wait a couple years then get a 16 model or wait until the 15s come out and trade off my 13.. Only thing that sort of worries me is the 15 is a new model meaning a possible chance of weird first year stuff happening, where as the 14 will probably be like the 03 and the 08 f150s.. A couple of the best year f150s are the last year of that generation.

To bad that one you looked at was a v8 ha.
That lifetime warranty is a deal tho, almost can't pass it up. I just couldn't change vehicles every other year like you
I keep mine for 5 years or more usually.
Coy, has yer dealer performed TSB 12-07-13 for the drive shaft that you know of? This requires the covers from the spline shaft to be removed, a special grease applied and the cover replaced with new bands. This is nothing new for the F150 and yours is far from the first.
I'd suggest holding off on a new truck. There are no more units coming out YM 2014 and the dealers are not offering end of year model discounts yet as they have no new inventory coming until the 2015 comes out. This is because Ford is taking the time to see to it that everybody on the assembly line knows exactly what they are suppose to do without fail. A lot of it is with the new aluminum body panels. If you think you want a 2015, I'd wait for one even if you have to deal with a clunk until then.
If you think you might get better service at a larger town, look to Northside Ford in San Antonio. Call their service manager and make an appointment. Maybe on a Friday so you and the wife take in the Riverwalk. They're the best in SA but it is a 200+ mile journey for you.

Do you think 13k off is as good as its going to get or possibly more off in a few months when the 15s are headed to the dealers?
Would you be concerned with first year problems on the 15 model?
I was surprised when he emailed me the 29k price when sticker is 42 and change.
Here is what he sent me.
