Build Sheet

Can anybody tell me how to get the actual production line BUILD SHEET for a new truck that was ordered? My dealer couldn't help me and Ford Service on line can't help me. Crystal tried but couldn't help me also.

You can't get the build sheet, you can however get the build order from your dealer. The build order is what the dealer sends to the factory. Should have dealer code and order number.

The build sheet, or teletype as we called it in the assembly plants, is removed and trashed at the end of the pre-delivery line before it leaves the assembly plant.

Best guess, Ford does not want the general public to get there hands on them. Why, I don't know. Since we are a sue happy society, that would be a reasonable conclusion.

After a lot of searching I found out the Build Sheets are available and easy to order. Go to the website shopfordgear.com
and there will be a blue box on the left "Build Sheets". Click on that and you will see
two versions you can order.

Not sure what information you need that you have to pay for it. Go to this site, click on "Vehicle" which is under where it says Ford ETIS. Put in you VIN and check the right side of the new page.

Under minor features, click the line to expand the list to just about everything you will want to know your truck has or doesn't have. Best of all, it's free!

I looked up my VIN a little while back and this site was pretty accurate, except that it stated that I did not have the Electronic Locking rear differential...which I do.

I know of at least one other person that said they have it too...when the site states that they do not.

Minor imperfection though. Good site for sure.

Mine is the same. The next line says 9.75" axle. I think that might have something to do with the axle upgrade for 20" inch wheels vs. the "standard" axle.

Build Sheets

Forgot about this thread/my post.

The build sheets you get online are not the same as we had in the assembly plants.

What we had were 8x11.5 sheets turned sideways that would have boxes with letters or numbers to tell us which part would need to put into the vehicle while it was moving down the assembly line.

These are the modern build sheets like what people would find in old muscle cars.
