Oops read that wrong. I thought the initial was way higher. But jeez, that's a large jump.

Would there just be one strip of clear plastic on the leading edge of the side that is getting repaired? Or are there multiple places that will have the clear plastic?

Leading edge of the box for sure, I had mine replaced under warranty once, but they couldn't find a part # so they had a local hood film guy build the little thing. You are just gonna have to compare side to side when you pick it up and inspect for missing film.

Wow sorry to hear what happened. I didnt know there were any others on this site in my area. Glad to hear THAT. Hopefully all will turn out ok and be good as new. People just don't know how to drive anymore. If it was a merging lane they were letting in, then they should have slowed/stopped and not the lane you were in. I see that all the time driving in Knoxville. And here in Maryville too.

Got my truck back almost a month after the accident. A long time to be stuck in a Ford Focus rental (especially at 6' 5"). Lance Cunningham Ford's body shop did an amazing job. Here's the repaired pics.

Lay down in your trucks bed, and shine a flashlight up underneath the box rail, As if you wanted to see the bottom of the plastic rail cap. Look for circular burn marks in the paint. You don't want to see any, and if you do, take it back.....

Glad you got your truck fixed too bad it took them too long to fix it. My 05 when I had it in the body shop back in 2010 it only took them a week to get it fixed.

Don't forget the hit on carfax... It will hurt resale value big time. We got hit like that and we were suing and the lawyer is also taking into account the loss in value

Isn't it funny how a body shop can match the paint on plastic parts like the trim piece under the grill better than the factory?

How much of a hit will this cause? Should i be pursuing a diminished value claim against the person who hit me from behind?

Can you elaborate on this a bit more? What do the burn marks in the paint mean? Would that be where the old side panel came off/where the new panel was reinstalled?

Are these the burn marks I should look out for? IRATE doesn't even begin to tell you how I feel. Will be taking it back as each side should look identical to when I brought it in!
