Good hiding spot for a pistol

Anybody come up with a clever spot to hide your gun in your truck? Some place that is out of sight, but fairly easy to get to. So far, I have my pistol in my door cubby, with a dark wash cloth size towel over it. Was just wondering if anybody else had a better idea.

I would edit your post so someone does not take the info and start looking for guns in that location in your town.

Under carpet near the pedals, it just pulls back there. Ideally you could install a gun safe in the center console or back seat. Also could use a bike type lock and run it through the trigger guard to a seat bracket and hide it under the seat.

On my 2005 XLT you could grab the center console at the front(between the console and the carpet and jerk it up. There was a neat space under the console. The Ford dealer showed it to me.

Why are you carring a gun? Why do you want to make it difficult to get to? In an emergency, and you need it, you need it now. I sure as hell don't want to have to fumble around trying to pull it out from under the carpet or have to unlock a bicycle lock.BANG YOUR DEAD. I keep mine in the holster. When in the truck I have a holster velcroed to the side of the consul kind of between the front of the seat and the consul by my right calf. When I leave the truck its very easy to grab and put it in my belt holster. Back in the truck I put it right back into the consul holster for comfort. To me, if your going to own guns for personal / family protection, carry it or its useless. Just my two cents worth.

Or he might be traveling and going into places that aren't carry friendly and need to leave it in the truck. On my 2003 the cupholders in the console would unsnap and leave an area big enough for a 1911 and a wad of cash. When I would go out buying used cars that's where both would be if I couldn't keep the pistol on me. On one trip I had to drive through Illinois, as I crossed the border I unloaded the pistol and stuffed it in the hole. The last thing I want to deal with is a cop in a gun **** state. If the pistol is hidden away and they don't have a reason to search for it life will be much easier for me.

I Usually keep mine shoved in between the driver seat and the middle seat so i can grab it with my right hand, Only other place is under the driver seat on the right hand side but its harder to get to. Thats one thing i hate with my truck is the center jump seat console is so small nothing fits there, and the storage on the bottom of the center seat is a good hiding place but it takes forever to get to the pistol.

It has a variety of mounting options, sides, bottom, top. For dash mount, floor mount or side of console.

Look under your steering wheel, theres a little slot you can slide a small compact in. if you pull that piece back a bit, not much effort, It's a little easier to see access. It's a place I feel comfortable enough to leave my pistol in and not have to worry about it. Now I know it doesn't seem like a great place if you need access to it in a hurry, but I always have my concealed carry weapon on me so I have that in case of emergency. Having that little spot there is just in case I'm going somewhere I cant CCW, I always want protection.

I wouldn't recommend leaving a nice pistol in there for long periods of time if you don't want a little rust to get on it. I bought a cheap little keltec, as moisture does get it being beside that metal. Oh yeh, don't forget to take it out if you go trade your truck in, that will lead to an interesting phone call to the dealership.

In a good quality conceal holster!!!!! I carry a full size Glock 21 and fell in love with the alien gear conceal holsters. I forget its even there. I dont want to be reaching around my vehicle, you never know how fast something is going to happen and having the firearm closest to you is the best. Other than that I cant remember who makes this holster but it mounts right under your steering wheel. I will try to find it and post the link. I want to say I seen it in an NRA magazine? I will double check.
