Anyone here order the wheel well liners from the factory? If anyone did, were they installed at the factory or did they install them at delivery to the dealer? Thinking about purchasing through the parts department and have them installed when my truck comes in, about the same price as factory order.

 

The wheel well liners from Ford are an accessory so they would be installed by the dealer or yourself after the truck has been delivered as they are not an option from the factory. I put a set on my 2012 and am extremely happy with them and think they really clean up the look of the open wheel well as well as doing what they are designed to do. They are not that bad to install yourself as it took me about an hour to install mine.

 

Any part number of price on the liners?

 

Also, did you put them on right when you bought your truck, or sometime afterward?

I've had my truck about 16 months now, and am looking into getting a set of these this spring - any special treatment I need to do before installing them? I usually rinse out all around in the wheel wells when I'm washing my truck.

It took me about 1 1/2 hours to install but i really just kind of took my time.

 

Buying them through Ford should come with a jar of vaseline. Buy the Rugged liners off ebay. That's what they company makes and they are around 80-90 bucks. I'd be willing to bet they make them for ford too. It's your money, but it's a foolish choice to go through the dealer.

That being said, I love mine and I was one of the ones to contact Rugged liners before they hit production after seeing them on my dad's ram. Another member and myself had inquired about them.

I have to agree with TruchGuy. I bought the Rugged Liners before the factory option was available. They were $111.00 installed by a local Leonards dealer. Yeah, I was to lazy to install them myself.......They fit great, and are very secure.

 

The only difference I see looking at the directions for the Rugged is that the ones I bought from Ford for $27 more did not use any of the plastic push pins in the install. Everything utilized bolts that were existing or provided with the liners and there were also 2 clips at the back that attached the liner to the bed frame, ( i panted those black to blend in). Other than that they look the same.

I ordered my truck with the wheel liners from the factory when I handed my dealership the build sheet. The option was $130 and they where installed by Ford on the assembly line. I went and checked the truck out the day after it was droped off of the truck before the dealership had a chance to mess with it.

 

I recently installed the Rugged Liner part# WWF15004 ($99.00) on my 2013 Plat. Fit was great and fairly easy to install. I did apply dynamat to the rear side of the liners just to quiet down road noise. I also added an additional plastic push pin connector to the inside rear of the liner to secure it better - but looks great and fits well - highly recommend this mod.

 

Did you guys have to jack up the rear a little via the tow hitch to provide more room to slide the liner between the tire and body? Maybe this has been asked before and I'm such a that I need to search?

I removed the wheels and they went right on. I was a warm this past weekend, 78, so they were nice and plyable after sitting in the sun.

Same here, jacked up the rear, inserted jack stand, remove wheel and it was real easy access. Wouldn't try it w/o removing the rear tire!
