Tips and Learnins
1. Use good hose. Don't get that Chinese crap in a bag from AutoZone, it would rather kink than bend. I got Gates White Strip at O'Reilly's.
2. The Amazon posts work OK. They stick up about a 1/4 inch, grind 'em down if you care. They don't quite fit the hole naturally. I've heard about tapping the holes first, probably a good idea if you have a tap/die set. If not, a bit of pressure will get them to bite and go in.
3. The stock grey hose clips work fine in the Dorman elbows, so don't fight trying to get them off of the hose barb.
4. I had to get some 3/8 vacuum line to reconnect to the CAI, about 12 inches was plenty to not make the bend too tight.
5. I used #8 black hose clamps from Davad Motor Sport. They fit the hoses without having a bunch of the band sticking out, in fact it helps if you undo them to get on the hose after the Dorman is installed. They do fit, barely.

Great job my friend. I like what you did with your coil covers too, looks great! I thought I would post this link to the the Gates Power Grip SB thermoset hose clamps that are heat shrink with a heat gun. This is what I love about the forums, Method just keeps getting better.
I think I am going to leave my clamps on until I have a issue in the future, then I will use these. I would have gone this route if I knew about these. Orileys offers a lot of good quality upper end choices.

The Dorman 90's have started to leak at the heater core just a little, so if your thinking about doing this or have done it, wanted to make you aware. I am going to try to figure out what is wrong. Mine were fine no leaks until a little over 3 weeks. It may be the o ring size inside not for sure.

O-ring update
 

Another gentlemen on Fl50forum had the factory heater hose O-rings sized at Applied Technologies and came up with 3/4 ID x 15/16 OD x 3/32 thickness. O'reillys sells these too, Part # 116 same as Applied. But most all of us took out our factory O-rings and put them into the Dorman 90 connectors. The original O-rings have been lubricated with some kind of a more than likely silicone grease. The difference between the Dorman O-rings and the OEM ones are almost 1/16 of a inch OD. Ive had mine swapped for 17 days and no leaks or coolant loss yet. If you bought these Dormans and do not want to remove your factory O-rings but use the #116 you will need some lube to install them. Dow corning makes some which you can get small packs for like .69 cents or so at Applied technologies, # 111CMPD6G PP. I am going to reinstall some of the aftermarket O-rings into my original hoses with some of this lube, will post results. I put 1 of these aftermarket O-rings which are made by National in one of my OEM hoses and it fit fine. I compared it to the Originals and measured, appears the same. On another note I found some more OEM style quick-lok connectors on Gates website part # 28505. Looks just like the Dormans, but I was told was better quality, do not know. They are more expensive but the internals probably are better maybe right size O-rings too. Cheaper online but none of us has tried that since we have our money already invested in the Dorman 90's. If you remove your O-rings be careful and remember there is a plastic washer inside the connectors that must be between each O-ring.http://www.f150forum.com/f38/engine-...14237/index14/

The O-rings Part #116 fit perfectly fine into the OEM hoses. I have not tried them on the truck yet as I have my Dorman quick connect 90's on still under my test for leaks. I ordered some of the Gates 90 quick-loks #28505 to check and compare the quality of those. Will be here toward end of the month and will post pics and what I find to see if they are better as a option, we will see.

This really makes the engine bay look really good! I would really like to do this to mine, or the Boss intake for looks and performance.

I got the Gates 90's in and quality is OEM. The Gates internals are like the OEM connects. O-rings appear to be exact. The Dorman has a large white insert that makes contact with the clip and the Gates is black and just like the OEM. The Gates clips look to be exact and better quality also. The Gates are made in the USA. Dormans are made in China which might explain the wrong O-ring size or they just had a run of the wrong size. The Dorman plastic body seems to be fine just the internals not as good. So if you do swap the O-rings out on the Dormans you should be ok, so far the rest of us are. The Gates cost more overall, but should function like OEM. Here are some pics comparing them. I only posted one of the Dorman 90 which has a large white ring inside its housing, the other 2 are the Gates 90 and a OEM connected to the factory hose.
