I just got my truck back from dealer because of shifting issues.

With my 2010 F150, I had rough 2-1 downshifts that would shake the truck. Really bad in stop and go traffic. Dealer replaced a valve, don't remember which one. Even after that, still had problems with shifts but not as jarring with the new valve.

New 2012 isn't that smooth either but 2-1 shifts don't slam (even after the valve replacement) like they did on the 2010. 2011 6R80 transmissions had the 1-way clutch changed to make for a better 2-1 shift.

Ford has always been known to have terrible transmissions and I concur. I had to have a new torque converter already on my 2012 F150 and it's not 1 year old yet. It started happening about 3 months after ownership. All good now with the new torque converter but Ford's transmissions are definitely unreliable.

Well I got mine back yesterday afternoon and I am not sure if normal or not but now the shift is elongated if that makes sense. Basically it takes longer to shift into second but it isn't a jerk shift like before. I will use it for a few weeks and see how it goes because they told me it might do weird things for the first week. I prefer this over the previous any day though..

Sorry, that is the last thing i think of when buying a ford truck is transmission problems.. I've had ford trucks with 350,000 miles on em all the way to my new 13 model and never had one transmission problem and im not worried one bit about having tranny problems.

Why would i have problems with broken spark plugs or cam phasers with my truck?
