2011 ecoboost help!!

hey guys,
first of all im new to the forum and new to f150. i used to have a 2005 dodge ram with mods and i decided to make the switch to a 2011 xlt ecoboost supercrew, and im glad i made the switch, no regrets.

anyways my problem is this, i have that digital display that shows how much kms you get till E (not sync), well when i fill my tank it doesnt give me good numbers, the best i saw was 530km to E and now its been saying from 414km to 499km. is that right?

the truck has 49000km so that would be around 30000 miles, how much are you getting to a tank or what does it say for you. could it be a glitch? i was thinking if i had a 4 speed auto but then 6 speeds come standard with the truck

any help is great
thanks
dave

Your computer learns how you drive and adjusts appropriately. If you have a heavy foot or sit a lot in traffic it will take this into consideration, when it figures out your fuel to empty estimate. The way and conditions I drive have essentially left the estimate about the same as when I first bought the truck.

Wait until you pull a trailer, then you will see that number drop!

just like 1depd said. It takes averages of your mpg and driving style and tries to assume how much you'll get off your next fill-up. If you take a long road trip the next fill-up will show a very high number till empty, just as pure stop and go will lower your next tanks estimate until empty.

Also, make sure you set the MFD to towing a trailer. This way you can have an accurate Distance to E figure that's separate from your unloaded figure. In the settings you can change it to "Use towing history" which reflects decreased fuel economy when towing.
