whats the warranty issue.... the dealer told me that if the motor has any trouble and it doesnt have MC parts on it (oil , filter , belts hoses ect ... ) ford can say no to motor warranty .... they said they have one in the back now w/ 15k miles on it that ford denied because of no MC oil of filter and no receipt for MC parts .... he told me this because he knows i own my own towing and repair business and wanted to make sure i kept receipts and made tickets with mileage on it for the oil changes i do

MAINTAIN YOUR VEHICLE PROPERLY
Your glove compartment contains an Owner Guide and a Scheduled
Maintenance Guide which indicate the scheduled maintenance
required for your vehicle. Proper maintenance guards against major
repair expenses resulting from neglect or inadequate maintenance, may
help increase the value you receive when you sell or trade your vehicle,
and is important in allowing your vehicle to comply with applicable
emissions standards.
It is your responsibility to make sure that all of the scheduled
maintenance is performed and that the materials used meet Ford
engineering specifications. Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as
specified in the Scheduled Maintenance Guide will invalidate warranty
coverage on parts affected by the lack of maintenance. Make sure that
receipts for completed maintenance work are retained with the vehicle
and confirmation of maintenance work is always entered in your
Scheduled Maintenance Guide.
my question would be in this line
It is your responsibility to make sure that all of the scheduled
maintenance is performed and that the materials used meet Ford

who is gonna have the final say so in what does and does not meet fords engineering specifications ? the ford engineers ? and how long without ur truck and how much money are u willing to fight ford over the if it does or doesnt meet their standers and still have to prove that it did meet their standard for the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act to be used
think ill just use MC oil n filter and not take any chance
i have heard several stories about warranty and the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act not being an issue because of the manufacturer said the aftermarket parts caused the failure
not tryin to start anything just tryin to help out my fellow ford drivers and maybe save their warranty

I guess thankfully Motorcraft is a good oil though. Although, where does it end? Under that same thinking you must have the dealer change the oil as well. Otherwise FoMoCo could say you didn't really change the oil. Personally, I know how good of a mechanic I am. I don't know how good of a 'mechanic' is the guy doing the oil change at the Ford Quick Lube lane. Too many horror stories there as well.
I understand you aren't trying to start anything. This is all merely a friendly conversation.
FTC Consumer Alert
Auto Warranties, Routine Maintenance, and Repairs
"...the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the FTC, makes it illegal for manufacturers or dealers to claim that your warranty is void or to deny coverage under your warranty simply because someone other than the dealer did the work..."
"...it's illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had routine maintenance or repairs performed by someone else. Routine maintenance often includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, fluid checks and flushes, new brake pads, and inspections..."
