Almost all of the people whom have posted on this topic have reported the issue and been assigned a case number. Not quite sure why owners of new vehicles would spend valuable time and effort trying to get a non-existent issue resolved. Just not logical.. BTW, racinwarrior.. Do you drive an Ecoboost F150?
You'd be surprised at what people can convince themselves of.

I agree.. convincing themselves something exist or DOES NOT Exist. I would just make sure your truck is an exception before the warranty runs out.

yep...2012 platinum 4x4 EB SCREW 3100 miles.

no problems to report....yet

well like i said, im not denying the problem exists. just because i havent experienced it doesnt mean its not there. im simply stating that maybe 100 people have reported a problem on here with EPAS, heck call it 1000 just to be safe. thats what, 0.1% of 2011 - 2012 f150 owners? 0.1 % doesnt mean the whole system is flawed.

I've had an 11' FX4 150 for almost a year and a half now, 20,000 miles, and never had a steering issue. I've run it offroad, on rough terrain and rough dirt roads. Never had any issues.

I will note that my issue definitely fluctuates with the temperature outside. When the temps are mid 70s to 80s. Problem is faint, almost non-existent. However, when outside temperature is in the 90s. Hold on because your steering is popping all over. Sure it's hotter here in MS than PA.

I have noticed that a lot of people reporting no issues live in the North.. I see a few from Texas but the majority are in cooler climates. Anyway, I'm taking my truck in for another rack on Monday.

I've had my truck (with leveling kit and 34" mud terrains) for 14 months and I haven't had any problems with the EPAs or anything else for that matter.

I've never heard of this problem, nor experienced it myself. Sounds like an isolated issue to me, and you're just extremely unlucky, Wernst. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Sorry man.. Maybe it won't get any worse. You can go to f150forumdotcom and click on 2009-Present. It is a sticky thread. See what others have done and are doing. So far everyone gets their gear replaced only for it to come back after a couple thousand miles. I have personally had the gear replaced and will go back for another one this Monday.

I'm in Arkansas and last summer when it was 105* or more it never made a peep. So far this summer it has topped 95* a few times and is I still haven't noticed a problem. Are the parts actually breaking or just making noise? It is a machine and machines do sometimes make funny sounds.

I'm farther south than you in MS and I still don't have the issue. Either I'm lucky or you're unlucky. Either way I hope you get it figured out.

My truck has this issue real bad.. 2011 5.0 4x4 SC 12,000 miles no mods.. Started at around 5000 miles and much worse when the weather is over 70 degrees. Here in New England last winter it was not bad at all but right now in June it sucks, feeels like I have 150,000 miles on it and worn out ball joints or sway bar bushings etc. but those are all fine and only have 12,000 easy miles on it. Wondering if the steering rack bushings have anything to do with this..just a thought.

3 or 4 people on here now with this problem + 50 or so on the other forum (f150forumdotcom). Dont think this is an isolated issue. Fix our trucks Ford.
