Question 09 FX4 - Popping Noise when Opening/Closing driver door

Hi all,

my driver side door has developed a "popping" noise when opening and closing. It happens when the door is about 3/4 closed or 1/4 way open, and it pops a few times. I can't tell what is causing this, and it's driving me crazy! It still moves freely and opens/shuts fine, but just the popping noise is super annoying. You can feel the door jar a bit when it hits the point that is popping.

It seems to have something to do with the grooved arm that connects the door to the door frame, but I'm not sure if there is something that can be greased or adjusted to fix this.

I figured this might not make too much sense, so I recorded a quick video with my flip cam and threw it up on YouTube so hopefully someone can recommend what to do.

I even took the truck in to the dealership today to have this fixed and they said they "couldn't replicate the problem and I would have to bring it back in next week". Idiots.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated! I have a feeling it's something totally simple and I'm just not seeing it.

Mine always pops when I open the drivers door after I shut the engine down.

Turns out its the door speaker as the radio stays on until the doors opened.

Thanks Ross, this is definitely not the speakers though. It has nothing to do with the truck being on or anything, it is a physical noise.

Thanks anyway though. Does the video not work for you? Is it anything I can fix, or are you just not on a system that can view youtube?
