How is the leather holding up???

The drivers sides leather seat in my 2011 F-150 is literlly coming apart at the seams, the leather is flaking off the fabric and looks terrible. I took it to my dealer and the service guy said "you are getting in and out of it too much, get a seatcover". I almost pulled him over the counter...

Anyone else having any issues with their leather?

My 2010 with 17K is doing OK. I have the chrome package that included the step to help hoist my *** up so I am not dragging across the seat as much. I have conditioned with Lexol a few times since owning it. Mine is the tan color. I would escalate on the service writer's opinion.

i have an 09 plat.
i try to get in and out by getting a fool on the running board, but it is taking 1 min to deploy..
i have 68K on the truck. seems its holding up ok.. but i use maguire wipes at least 1x month to keep it moistened.

it still looking like another year and i will have to purchase seat cover for at least the drivers side.

50k price tag doesnt mean that much i spose.

Ford will be replacing my leather seats as many times as my warranty will let me, I didnt spend $3000 extra for leather only to cover it up with tacky looking seats covers...

My wife has an '03 explorer. driver seat started to wear on the left side from sliding out. The leather they put in these trucks is too thin. And i am not enamored with the plastic feel. Mine is an '09 and so far it is holding up after 37k. just a few wrinkles here and there.

One of the problems is that the seats have stupid bolsters .It's not a sports car it's a truck ! The first day I had to get in and out of my '09 Reg Cab a lot I decided to modify the seat , cutting foam on the bolsters within 1/2" of the wire frame .That was a big help .
Leather , good quality stuff, is actually very durable and should last a long time if not abused. At one time I had custom leather and it was great !

I had 167K on my '03, 139K on my '08, both leather, no problems. They don't absorb road dust or water. I keep a rag in each door pocket, wipe the seat off if need be and keep going. I should probably do some leather treatment stuff or clean them better, but too busy I guess.

My '11 lariat with tan leather is staining with my blue jeans no matter how old my jeans are. The stains don't come out with any cleaner. Havent tried to go to the dealer because I know the answer will be that it is my fault.
Other than that the leather has normal wrinkles in it but the truck only has 5k miles.
What I noticed is that only the top part of the seat is leather. The rest is vinyl.…

not to displace the thread, but my 97 has a few minor rips in the original seats on top of the few stains.

I havnt contacted Ford directly, but if my leather seats keep flaking and tearing within my warranty time I believe they should keep replacing them. Just like they did with the 20" wheels on my 07, everytime I'd get a slight blemish I would complain and have them changed out...
