How is the leather holding up???
Reading all the above advice about cleaning/conditioning our leather seats...I believe they are covered with a thin membrane/coating to protect the leather and applying conditioner is a waste of time & money. Notice it does not absorb into the leather, but wipes right back off and if you leave residue it will just dry sticky. I use Maguire's and Lexol leather products that work great on my other leather interiors (Porsche, BMW) but I think Ford has that protective membrane/coating on their leather - except for the King Ranch, which does respond well to leather cleaners/conditioners. Long story short - conditioning our F-150 leather seats is a waste of time & $$'s. A gentle cleaning when needed keeps my leather looking great!
The only problem with most factory "leather" seats is that its not a solid leather seat.... only the middle section is leather. Not sides of the front, the actual sides, or back of the seat. That is vinyl. So no amount of conditioner will save it. The best thing would be for ford to put 100% leather seats and charge the same amount for them. You guys pay 3 grand for leather and get 20% leather, 80% vinyl... its the same as the base model XL. I think the Platinum models actually do have full leather on the entire front of the seat. But still not the sides or rear.
Any pics of the seat covers? I am also looking for some covers and just curious how they look and how long they took to ship?
