Regular cab or SuperCab

I'm getting ready to buy my first truck, and having trouble deciding between the Regular cab and the Supercab. I'm a single guy and rarely have anyone riding with me. Aside from storage space (which honestly I believe that's what the bed is there for), can anyone tell me why I should go with the Supercab over a Regular cab? Does anyone regret getting the Regular cab over the Supercab? Thanks!

Its really up to you but I would go the super cab route. You never know what might happen in the future were you may need the extra seats. Plus I always look at resale value. Good luck with your choice and purchase.

I don't know if it's still true in that gen, but the reason I got an ex-cab was to get the sunroof. Deal breaker for me without it. Actually thought about ex-cab with 8 ft. bed, but it wouldn't fit in my garage, they hardly made any of them, and the turning radius must totally stink.

I guess if you're planning on covering your bed, then it shouldn't matter about storage in or out. Nobody's ridden in the back of mine yet, but it's nice to know I could squeeze some people in, in a pinch if I had to.

I'd get an extended cab. You get some interior storage space and like stated gain some extra seats just in case you need them.

Dealer will put a moon roof in any truck. Was going to have it done on a XLT I was looking at, but ended up with the FX4 that had it.

Go with the super cab, you will appreciate the extra space.

I was actually told that I couldn't install a sunroof in my truck (reg cab) because of the Ribs that support the roof. Now mine is a 07 so it's a different body style, but I'm not sure how much of the core frame/unibody they actually changed.

But I don't know if the sunroof is a major issue for the OP.

I got my reg cab because it was affordable. This was back in '07 but with a couple grand down and a few rebates I got her for around 16K.

if you get a sun roof on a regular cab, where is the glass supposed to slide when it goes backwards? my guess is there is no room for it and thats why it's not possible.

supercab all the way. yes you do have the bed to haul stuff. but you will greatly appreciate the extra space down the road if not right away. regular cab trucks dont leave you with many options.

SCAB.. seat slides back and reclines further, Room to keep things dry or from freezing. Plus reasons others mentioned.

SuperCab.... Resale value (especially if you are young and single) and package options if you are buying new. I have had one regular cab (silverado) 3 SuperCab trucks (all F-150's) and my new SCREW. You won't regret it. Happy Shopping!

It slides on the out side.

My big issue with an aftermarket sunroof is I have heard absolute horror stories about leaks from these things. Does anyone have a real world experience they can share?

i was just showing how it opens inside the roof.

You will be happier with the supercab IMO in the long run.
