Hellwig Sway Bars, Got em?
Hellwig Sway Bars, Got em?
Has anyone installed Hellwig Sway Bars on there 2009 or newer F150?
I have a 2011 5.0L and am considering putting them on my New Super Cab.
I had a set on my 1998 F150 Lariat, and the truck handled like it was on Rails, it also had KYB Gas Adjust shocks. I loved the way that truck handled. I was hoping for some feedback on Hellwigs on a 2009 or newer F150. My new truck plows through corners, and a lot of Sway. Even with 1,400 miles on it.
Thanks

Got 'em and have had them installed for a couple of months now. *2011 FX4 OFF ROAD, Super Cab, 5.0L

- installation ... STRONGLY RECOMMEND doing it on a lift. Yes, it's doable in the drive with floor jack and jack stands but expect MORE installation time. *Me ... Fortunate enough to have access to a lift.
. - fit and finish

. - improved handling

. - have noticed that at highway speeds you feel the bumps in the pavement more, however, to me it's a very minor issue.

i put a rear sway bar on my 05 f150 a few years ago. thinking about putting one on my 2011 that i now have. the 05 install was a breeze. did it on the ground in a half hour. cant see the 2011 being much different. made a big difference on the turns. it used to dive into the corners. after the sway bar it was if it were on rails.

I will be adding the rear bar to my XL standard cab long bed. I have heard almost all positive feedback on the bar. The only negative feedback was it stiffens the rear suspension up a bit and is slightly less compliant over bumps.

I have one. Just watch the over steer in evasive maneuvers. Stock the truck under steers heavily. With the bar on I have pitched the rear out swerving to avoid deer and debris in the road. That is all I have noticed.
I too have the Hellwig rear anti-sway bar installed on my 2010 2wd Screw. Install was easy and I did it without a lift. Took me about 1.5 hrs to install, but I spent some time lining it up with a level and tape measure....I know, a little ****
Been on the truck about 6 months and there is a definite improvement in rear stability around corners. It still handles like a truck, but more stable and controlled. The bar is adjustable and I am set on the middle hole and will leave it there for now. I have not encountered any oversteer on my F150 since the bar was installed.....now my Mustang, well that's a different story.
Best price I could find online was from Amazon, so they got my business. I would definitely recommend this mod!

No factory rear bar. I added the Hellwig rear and kept the factory front bar.
