Mine is in the mirror also, and is at the dealership now. It has done it since new in Feb. 11. The screen would also be a blank blue when left in direct hot sunlight in the summer. They are replacing the camera itself. I took it in for the tailgate hinge failure and just mentioned the camera deal as a sidenote to the SA.

I have the mirror and only seen the lines once. I tried to show my Dad the lines and they weren't there, I should say haven't been there ever since.

Another question, is there a different camera for the mirror then the nav?

i HIGHLY doubt it, it has to be something in the computer that resets that feature for some reason.

mines going to the dealership over the christmas holidays to solve this problem, but i'm sure they are going to turn them on restart truck once or twice and then say it works perfectly fine.

Just wanted to throw in a "me too." At the very least its good to know I'm not going crazy. Not a killer issue, but it is annoying.

So it seems the people with the problem are those who do not have the nav. I wouldn't think there would be any difference in the programming between sending a picture to a screen on a radio or on a mirror.

Maybe its in the wire routing. It could be a couincidence too but I doubt it.

Mine does it too. Build may 2011. Fx4 Screw 157". Totally random resets. Gotta be a computer software issue.

Spinedoc,

How did you make out? Did replacing the camera work?

@chris3058, my build date was 5/11 as well.

I'll chime in - I've had my truck almost 3 weeks, and put over 1,100 miles on it - I have the Sony nav with backup camera, and it's shown the dotted black line and truck sides (green/yellow/red lines) every time I put it in reverse.

Good luck to anyone having issues - it's weird that the in-mirror display would be different - I would assume that Ford used the same software for both displays.

1st Time Ford, I've had my truck back for a week now with no issues. The lines stay on the screen and I must say the picture quality is much more clear especially at night. A shout out to George Coleman Ford in Travelers Rest SC
