I did in my last truck, and the bill just for the HU and accessories like sirius, bluetooth, etc came to nearly 2k. It may perform better than the Sony HU, but it left alot to be desired in the integration category.

Ditto, plus the touch screen just looks better in the center console. I can't bring myself to like the semi-horrid center stack of a million buttons and ***** that comes with no nav...

I have been watching Autotrader/Ebay/etc... just a few used ones, but several ingot silver screw's with nav on autotrader. Lots of new ones out there, but not many with nav and not many without the graphics packages... hopefully we can luck out and nav will become available, even if it was a late availability.. :o

Luckily I got exactly what I wanted..... But damn I paid for it..... $$$
I feel the same way, if I am paying that much for a truck it better have nav. I think this is a major screw up on Fords part to just pull nav for the entire model year..

My coworker had an '09 Lexus RX 350 with the Nav, and one day she called me to help her find her way home from Memphis (her starting point home, the Memphis INTERNATIONAL Airport, would not show up on her Nav). I told her to have her husband throw the unit out into the back yard, and gave her my old Rand McNally Wal-Mart Road Atlas

If nav is to be in the Super Duty in the fall, it's got to be in the F-150. I don't believe they are pulling it for the entire year for their most popular vehicle.

The only thing I see here is you may have to wait a little bit and there is no no tuxedo black. Everything else listed is irrelevant. Lariat Ltd - it was limited and they made all of the ltd's they planned on making. Raptor - retail only - if you plan on ordering, it makes no difference.

Any decent aftermarket nav unit can do all that. I would *never* buy a unit with integrated climate controls. Then you're locked into that thing forever.

Not being able to get specific colors is a whole other deal though.

The F-150 XLT uses the In-Dash Computer also known as Work Solutions. It's only like a $1,200 Upgrade, which is cheaper then a high end aftermarket NAV.

I had upgreaded my system in my old truck to a Kenwood eXcelon NAV head unit, the cost for the head unit, install, wire harness(s), was like $2000. While the Kenwood head unit is awesome, the factory integration just isn't there.

Nothing beats a fully integrated NAV OEM head unit. That said typically the Aftermarket NAV head unit's have better nav and features then the OEM units, but they lack in the integration area which makes it kind of a trade off.

I think in a few years the OEM NAV unit's will be all over ebay. If/when that happens I'll likely upgrade my aftermarket unit to an OEM NAV unit and put the Kenwood Aftermarket unit in my car to replace my Pioneer NAV unit which sucks huge.

I highly doubt Ford is pulling navigation for the whole year. I wouldn't trust anything a dealer says. They want you to buy NOW, not wait a few months for navigation!

I have had a lot of vehicles with OEm nav, and the sync nav is by far in a league of its own. The most user friendly, the best integration. I would never do after market and butcher the dash of a new 40-50+ vehicle. These system are so specific that there is almost no way to ever make it look right, plus with the F150s that have a meriod of buttons scattered all over the center stack how could ever truely look or work near as well as the OEM. What about the steering wheel controls, ect.

Also FORD, Sony, Sirius and MS, all went together to design this system, I am thinking there is a reason there are no aftermarkets that have the same features, and integration capability.

I myself pretty much seldom use the NAV function, but it is nice to have. What I do use a lot is the extra large screen back camera, and travel link, I use the travel link for finding best fuel prices, weather forecast and weather radar.

I too have an Iphone Ipad ect, but if you are taveling in a rual area and there is no signal Then try pulling up weather with the phone. Thats where having it all intergrated via Sirius SAT is very nice.

I have herd that FORD and Sony are working on the problem, that we should look for the order bank to hopefully start accepting NAV orders in OCT-NOV time frame.

If are set on a wanting a OEM NAV F150 I would get it while there are still quite few out there The supply of them will start running dry within the next 60 days, already getting thin. To get the same deals and NAV in a 2012 I guessing it will be next spring, early summer before supply has fully gotten back to normal.

I guess I'll also throw my hat in the ring on +1 for OEM NAV unit for the same reasons all others have stated. It's not perfect, but its integration with everything else on the truck can't be had with any aftermarket kit.

When I was searching for my 09, I actually did NOT want the NAV as I thought my iPhone with nav apps would be sufficient. As I researched further, I decided to get the NAV but only because I wanted to have the rearview camera be displayed on a big screen (my old eyes are failing me now :o) instead of a tiny "overlay" on the rearview mirror.

But now after having used the NAV, I swear I will now always get it with any future F150's and love how well it's integrated with the factory speaker system! It will automatically decrease the volume of any audio source when speaking out directions, and mute itself if on a call. Plus the large screen provides more route information and more advance notices of upcoming turns that a small iPhone screen or a somewhat larger, dedicated GPS unit can't offer. I only use my iPhone to search for specific places but plug addresses into the built-in NAV.

I would either wait for or build an F150 that has NAV or seek a used one.

The 8" nav screen just gives the truck an overall nicer feel. I may have compromised my engine choice for the colors that I wanted but theres no way I'd buy one without factory nav.

I'm not familiar with the "in dash subscription"...

You mean built-in Navigation system/screen? If that's the case, it's not "subscription" based; only the Sirius satellite radio is and is an optional service. The factory navigation is fully complete and ready-to-go, however, any future map updates must be purchased directly through NavTeq and $200 each and every map. You shouldn't have to purchase updates for probably several years or more, and only if the areas that you drive have any significant new or altered road construction.

I have the factory Nav and one of the better Garmans. There is no comparison, the factory nav is soooo nuch better. The Garman now only comes out when I am traveling in another vehicle.

The nav in the Superduty is not the same as the F150. The Superduty screen is smaller. Everything in my dads 2011 SD is tiny compared to my 2010 F150. You can barely see things on the SD nav. If the 2012 F150 is the same, I'll pass,

Huh? What? If you are talking about a 2011 F150 with the 4" screen between the gauges, that's not navigation.
