09 STX 2wd leveling questions
09 STX 2wd leveling questions
I am a new member to the site but have been browsing it since I bought my truck. I have a 09 STX 4.7L 2wd. I have searched and read most of the info on these topics but wanted to confirm my thoughts. I want to level my truck to fit 20x9 Rockstars with 33" tires. My questions are these...
1. Is 5.5 bs going to have any trouble with rubbing and to my knowledge will stick out about an inch, is this correct?
2. With the 4.7L will I need to regear or should my transmision be able to handle the 33s?
3. Should I but a rear block on?
4. Also my truck is a daily driver that I put around 30k miles on it each year. i want aggressive tires like the toyo MTs. How long will these hold up with A LOT of HWY driving? I want a tire that will last but love the aggressive look of the MTs.
Thanks for all of the input in advance.
Here's my STX

1. You should be fine with 5.5" of backspacing
2. You don't need to regear for 33s.
3. If you go with a 2.5" level, then it will sit perfectly level. If you tow often, then I would put a bigger block in the back to give you a little rake so if you tow the truck will not sag in the back.
4. I would go with Nitto trail grapplers if you want an aggressive look and do lots of highway driving. They are very quiet on the highway and have around a 60k tread life. The toyo mts are also good, but they are alot louder and have around a 40k tread life.

I would add 4x4 Bilstein leveling struts up front since they are 1" taller than the 2wd Bilstiens and add a stock 4x4 rear block and then you can adjust the front to whatever height you like to match the rear.
I think a 2.5" level on a 09+ is too much to sit level without adding a block.. The 09+ have less rake than 04-08.

So if I were to get the Bilstein 4X4 shocks they will fit my 2wd?
