Got the lifts installed and after alignment, went down to the Discount Tire to trial fit one tire...

...won't work. Even though they didn't have lug nuts in stock that would fit and we couldn't lower the truck down, most likely it still would hit the rear bottom edge of the front fender as we turned the steering wheel.

It did look sweet though.

Another thing I noticed is that the 2" front spacer really didn't raise the truck the same as the truck I posted initially with my original post. But I've examined the 2010 truck from the carriage photos provided and I don't see anywhere a crossmember lift. If they did a 3" total lift with spacers/shocks, I feel the extreme angle of the front suspension would lead to premature wear and other potentially dangerous or unexpected handling. When I compare photos my truck lifted all around to that one, it appears the total front lift of the 2010 is 4".

Anyways, Discount Tire is doing some research for the rim used on the other truck, especially width and offset. They recommend 8.5" width with +22mm offset, but that's a stock height 4WD. With 2" net front lift, might be able to get a little more out of that.

Seems like the only 4" lift kit is from Rancho, and this requires cutting into the existing crossmember mounts. Next up is the 6" lifts with almost all requiring cutting as well, except the Pro Comp which is basically a bolt on kit, according to the instructions. I really was trying to stay away from 6" lifts, but if I had a choice between cutting and no cutting, then it would have to be the 6" Pro Comp kit versus 4" Rancho kit. However, the Skyjacker lift kit's height can be adjusted from 4" to 6". Even though it also requires cutting, this appears to be the best compromise that allows me just the right height for now (4"), and when I finally get the "itch" I can crank it up to a full 6".

What I discovered after reviewing the various lift instructions is that they basically all recommend no wider than 9" on a 20" wheel, with maximum 5-1/2" backspacing, with 35" tires that is. Which means even with a full 6" lift, I probably won't be able to get my current 20x10's them to fit with 35's. 33's on a 6" lift may be a bit small, IMO.

It seems the "sweet" spot is a 20x9 with +25mm offset. There are two 09+ 4x4's that have them (Liquid Metal Coils) with 305/55R20's (one with Nitto Trail's and the other with Nitto Terra's) and they report no rubbing or trimming required with front leveling kits installed.
