If the dealer or Ford really wanted to Yes, the exhuast could void warranty on certain parts pertaining to the drivetrain. They could say it made more horsepower than intended, thus your tranny blew up. Or any other weird excuse. At that point you'd have to lawyer up and fight or eat the cost of repair. If you have the ability, return it to stock form before taking it in.
They won't deny a broken window motor because you have an exhaust.

If you want aftermarket exhaust for added performance, you can get mufflers that dont sound like a ricer that will flow better than stock. But in the end, its your truck and if you like the sound of the exhaust-who cares what anyone else thinks?

I think you'd be safe if you didn't mess with any of the emissions. There isn't anything a freeflow exhaust system is going to do to the engine except reduce back pressure a tad. Adding an aftermarket exhaust will not add horsepower to your engine, those engines are dyno'd at the fatory without all the emissions and exhaust crap on them. Once they hang all the emissions stuff on them, that rated HP drops-all you are doing is bringing it closer to its rated HP by making it more efficient. Once you start tweaking turbos or adding cams or chipping it will you get more HP than when it was made-thats when you can void a warranty. And if you do that stuff, you don't really have a leg to stand on if something goes wrong.

I just installed my heartthrob tonight and still waiting on my bulldog and intake but without either of those it sounds alright. I had to fire it up right after I took the stock exhaust off and I liked the sound of nothing better then the heartthrob. Can these motors run with strait 4in pipes after the cats?
