Eco-Boost +

"At our test track, the Insight accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 10.9 seconds -- a few tenths slower than the Prius, but a substantial 2.6 seconds quicker than the glacial Civic Hybrid."
"1/4-mile (sec. @ mph) 17.9 @ 77.9"
I positive a 4.2L V6 F-150 will take care of that.

But, yes I'am sure there are plenty of these ecoboost trucks that can spank some straight piped V8s.
It's a myth that a muffler needs to be "loud" to have good flow. There are whisper quiet mufflers out there that flow better than many "performance" mufflers. There reason they make them louder/deeper sounding is because people that buy them are more interested in the sound than the performance.

Even smarter!
If a motor had perfect efficiency there would be no sound or heat produced. Every molecule of fuel would be turned into work, we all know this is not the case. So from thermodynamics we know that energy can not be created or destroyed, it can be changed. In an internal combustion engine the energy in the fuel is changed into movement of the rotating parts, heat and sound. Since the sound does nothing to help move the vehicle it is considered wasted energy.
