Now scroll down to the dyno charts and you will see the stock torque for a 2011 5.0, baseline from 2250 , its reading 255lbs,

As I said misinformation, no reading even below 2500 rpm. MISINFORMATION

Your dynos were done with different testing providing the misinformation you stated. Here's a dyno in opposition to your misinformation. http://www.aemintakes.com/dynocharts...-1101_dyno.pdf

Actually this happens on every thread, he attacks and I'm fed up with it.

Moderators do little. It's not just here, it's at F150 Forum also.

His harassment enters all threads and I'm just about tired of that.

I have an 11 ecoboost with 3.73's. I 've never had a n/a 5.4 to compare it to, as I've always felt it was a worthless motor(but I do own a lightning). With that said, I am seeing 20-21 mpg highway and 15.8(last fill upo). I am very happy with the trucks power, mileage and how quiet it is.
Truck currently has 1200 miles on it, we've had it about 2 weeks

Ok guys, one more warning. Everyone has a right to an opinion and the right to express it as long as it is not done in an insulting manner. Just because you disagree with someone does not make him wrong and you correct. A few of you don't seem to understand that this is a discussion forum and different views are not only permissable, but actually healthy.

If it gets into any more mud slinging, then we WILL do some moderating.

Jim

Have almost 4,000miles on my ecoboost FX4.

Power is awesome, everyone that drives it can't believe it. Love the smoothness, never really needs to shift, very quiet, ect.

My mileage is now up to 18.7-19.3 combined city and highway. I drive a little slower than your average driver but I also will have a little fun on each tank as well.

I am about to tow my 6,500lb boat/trailer through some steep hills here in a few weeks. Anxious to see how it does with some real weight on it.

Ecoboost will be a good engine for a long time just like the BMW 3.0L TT

Thanks for making my point. It is a commonly held opinion on the internet that " Dyno Dynamics is known throughout the industry as being the "heartbreaker" dyno - because it breaks the heart of every man that thinks he has 500 hp when he really has 350. The Dyno Dynamics reads lower than the Mustang. It reads WAY lower than a Dynojet." http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...g-dynojet.html. This is one of many, just google Dynojet vs. Dyno Dynamics. Most will say the Dynojet reads 10-18% high.

I may get slammed for this... I've driven 3 of the 4 new powertrain's, an EB FX4, fully loaded with the 5.5 bed, a 3.7L reg cab STX and my 5.0 SCab STX. The EB was smooth and quiet. I'm glad the EB owners are enjoying their new trucks. I purchased the 5.0L because I thought it was the peppiest in traffic and on the highway and it had zero, off the line, drive-by-wire hesitation.

Only time will tell how great the new powertrain's are going to be. I averaged 18+ mpg's on my 3rd tank of gas. I am now at 20+ mpg's in combined driving. My only concern is that Ford may have mislead us on the EB's mileage potential. I had to keep my foot on the gas pedal when I test drove the EB. There is no boost gauge and Ford has no intention of installing one. How much boost are EB owner's experiencing in daily driving? Is this the reason for the less than desireable mileage?

Great than why are you comparing the 2 different dynos you linked, against each other, the 2010 and the 2011??!!

It's plain to see by the graphs they weren't remotely close to the same type of test, yet you are comparing them when the 2010 didn't even test at 2500 rpm or below. The 2010 dyno link you provided isn't credible in the least as the curves are unrealistic in every way. What happened to the 2008 5.4L dyno you were argueing with (against a 2011 5.0L) prior that was done in different years, done on different machines, and used a different transmission than the 2009/2010 you were argueing against????????

Are you finally done so the original topic of the thread can be back in play or are you going to continue to hijack the thread??!!

Talk to me when you have over 200K miles on your Eco-Buzz V6!!! Let me know about its health then!!! The 5.4 motor in any version 2v or 3v is a proven design! With real world users to back that statement up!!!....
I had 331,000 miles on my '97 F-150 5.4 4wd and it still ran like new when I traded it in. Currently I have a 2009 5.4 4wd with 50K + miles, and it sounds like it's doing much better mpg-wise than the new "EcoBoosts" - 20 mpg on highway.

Weird, 20mpg is exactly what my truck got on my last highway trip(with 450 miles on the odometer mind you), and I have way more power than you...
Those that are beating their chest about the 5.4 must remember, A) some of us didnt want that piece of **** motor, and B) some peopel haven't owned a 5.4 F-150, so they aren't giving up anything to get the Ecoboost. I traded in a 5.3L Tahoe on the Ecoboost...

I'm not really sure why you guys keep knocking the 5.4 3V. Technology changes, motors change. My 5.4 pulls hard if I wot...but it's made for towing. If you need more speed than that, then you drive way to fast in a truck. That makes no sense. Seriously, think about it. Yeah the newer motors have more power, but how much power do you need if you aren't towing. your trying to move a huge brick. Oh and my "pos" 5.4 2wd scab... pulls low 20s on the highway. Just added new wheels and tires that area heavy... my instant mpg's in still slowing low 20s and high teens. It's all about maintenance and how you drive

Ford's downfall for the last few years have been that their engines have always been the weakest compared to the competion. Finally Ford has the engines to be on top. Rejoice and enjoy your Ford whether it be the 3.5, 5.0 or 6.2

As far as deposits go on the ecoboost, the hero engine came out looking pretty good after all that it went through. The Ford engineer stated that to keep it clean to use premium fuel and to periodically work it hard. That means that you guys that don't tow anything need to go out and buy a heavy boat or RV. Perfect excuse- Ford said so

I don't need more power and speed -and neither do you. What we really need is a good reliable low maintenance long lasting engine that gets much more mpg's.
