5.0 Governor?

Guys -
I stomped the pedal this morning pulling onto the highway seeing what it can do. Awesome power surging to 95mpg then it lose power. Is that what the governor is set at - this is my first 150.

Not complaining since i would never cruise at that speed anyway.

Mine shuts down at 97 mph. I won't tell you how I know that.

I've heard from a reliable source the newer trucks shut down about 97-99. The same source told me the older trucks would shut off 105-107. The exact number seems to vary depending on PCM code but it is normally within 2-3MPH.

best way to check is with a GPS. speedos (espeically on trucks) can be off as much as 10mph as you get near 3-digit speeds. The fastest I've gone (108 verified by GPS), my speedo says 92-94

I don't know the limit for my 2011. Haven't tried yet.

I remember when I bought my 1998 F150 and found out it shut down at 95 mph. I was pissed. I wanted the ability to hit tripple digits. That's how I found this site, ten years ago. It seems light years ago.

Oh the memories.
