I'm looking at my window sticker right now at the charges for the options, and the 4.10 gears with the E locker was only a $50 option, not sure where the $1600 number came from.

One thing I did notice, is that when you add the 4.10's to the build, you have to get the 20" wheels...no option to get the 18's that come standard on most of the trucks. Maybe that is part of the price jump? Also, I ordered the Max Trailer tow package, which may be a requirement with the 4.10's also...but I'm just speculating, I really don't know for sure.

^^ i'm pretty sure you are right. Ecoboost is also one of the price jumps. didn't see it as an option with the 5.0

When you build your own on ford's website, the 4.10 are a $1600 upgrade in the model options. I bet it has to do with getting the 20's and tires to match, since you can only get the 20's with the 4.10. Didn't think about that. But you can get the Max-tow package with 3.73's on the FX4, they are standard gears with Max-tow on all other models.

I'm interested in your speculation as to whether the wheel sticking out another 1/2" would cause rubbing issues at the front or rear of the fender. How close does your tire come?

I was planning on 20x9 with +18 offset which would bring the tire out 6/10th of an inch and would love the option to not level (I may anyways but don't like being forced to do anything).

20's are part of the deal if you get a 4.10 at least on an FX4

Here is my take, make sure those 20's you get are LT tires. My rig with the 3.73's had the optional 18" LT All Terrain tires for an upcharge of $275. I would never run P series tires on anything meant to tow even so much as a popsicle stick.

I am still not a big believer in 20" plus rims unless they are making LT tires to match in D or E ratings- looks be damned

One of the other wheels that I was considering was only available in +18mm, and the guys at belle tire said they would rub the front bumper/valence pretty bad with 33x12.5s...I took their word that the +35 wheels would work, and they were 100% correct. A friend of mine has the same truck with +30mm wheels, and his also clears just fine with the same tires. It seems like a lot of tire store employees don't know what they are talking about, but the ones I dealt with knew their stuff.

I do believe the 10.25" rear would have 7 lug wheels.

Yes I believe you are correct that 10.25 would have been 7 lug. Doesn't mean they could haven't made a 6 lug version for this vintage of F150.

But the debate of the 7 lug is a whole other issue, for another thread.

Thanks. Haven't made it out there yet this year, every time we had a weekend planned it ended up being cold and rainy. But I am going next weekend (the 7th) rain or shine, I can't stand it already being May and no sand yet .

I don't which I'm more excited about, hitting the strip and putting a whoopin down with my truck or the new Raptor build .

That is just insane on a quad! Hopefully I will be up there to see it run at some point this year.
