got my line-x put in today, came out really good.

2 issues so far with the truck:
- sync doesn't like to work all the time
- paint on passenger side where the 2 doors meet has a little bubbling, just noticed it today.

so going to set an appt up for next week and drop the truck off to have those 2 issues fixed.

updates on the truck:
- sync still doesn't like to work all the time, dealer found no issues with it. bothers me more than anything even when working, wish it was an option to not have it
- paint got fixed

motor:
- no complaints out of the 5.0 yet, i really like the motor. constantly surprising me, having read all the ecoboost threads i think i made the right decision for my needs/wants.

Mileage:
-3 mile commute to school every day so truck never really warms up but i'm getting a solid 15 mpg with a heavy foot.
-highway i'm getting 16.5 going 80+, if going the speed limit its 18+
-city was staying steady around 16-16.5 back when i had a 15 mile commute to class.

Towing:
- haven't had a real chance yet to get a good feel, hopefully will be getting a car hauler soon to pull my LC to the trails further away so will update once i have pulled a heavier load (~6k lbs) a few times with it.

4wd:
only played with 4wd once, seemed to be a lot smoother on the beach than my lifted 07. didn't really have a need to try the e-locker so can't report to much on that.

- no real plans for this truck, planning on staying pretty stock for the time being, only things i have in mind are airbags depending how a trailer squats the rear . still have a lot of plans for my LC so that's where all extra money is going.

Towed my FJ40 today for the first time with my 5.0 (roughly 6k lbs w/ trailer), did really well.

what i noticed, pulls WAY better than my dads old 08 5.4. You can tell the torque isn't quite there (didn't expect it, the 5.4 feels a lot torquer than the 5.0 down low) but get it into the revs (3k range) when accelerating and it goes. Has no problem holding its speed in 6th gear going 65 mph. only found one hill where it had to downshift. no real complaints, was actually very surprised how well it did. i was expecting it to have no power to pass like the 5.4 which it definitely did. only complaint if i have to pick something is i got 9 mpg but that was through a bunch of traffic lights, construction, etc. so hoping for more around the 10-11 range on my trip next month. 36 gallon tank is definitely going to come in handy.

will have a trip mostly interstae on the 18th of november and 21st totalling 300+ miles and will report back

sounds good. The mpg isn't that bad, my 08 SD was getting around the same. I'd like to see what she does on your next tow.

to compare, my dad brought it up a few weeks back for me now that i have a place to keep it, he got 11.0 mpg interstate (houston to denton 260 miles) on the way up in his 2010 superduty. the motor did not struggle at all towing so i really think 10.5-11 mpg is possible.

i did break 54 mpg towing! decided to reset the average mpg to see what i'd get, just happened to be going down hill and off the gas. look at jarret (01f1502wd) who was in the passenger seat and said **** your moms prius
