Body Lift Time

Yup, I said I wouldn't do it but I guess I did nothing more than lie to myself. Having a 3" body lift installed this weekend, both front and rear replacement bumpers raised, gap gaurds installed and exhaust rerouted sometime shortly after.

Think I will have the first 2009 Platinum with around 14" of total lift, 11" in suspension, and 3" in body

Currently running 37's with only 5k on them, not really sure as to how soon I will go bigger and or even what size I would go with. Going to just wait and see how she looks once it is all done.

Pics to come, told them to keep the truck for as long as it takes to ensure everything is done completely right!

40's is what im thinking will be perfect for it but im hoping that the 37's will look ok for the time being. They are far to new, and finding people in this city wanting a set of tires that size used is hard to come by, maybe Discount Tire can do something for me but won't bother finding out until the kit is on.

Yeah, hopefully something will work out for you. What tires are you going to go with if you go 40's?

jp,
I honestly have no idea as to what tires I would go with as I havnt even really looked nor think too many are made to fit a 22" wheel. I might just go with the sitting high on 38's look as I am really only doing the body lift to get more of that look on the current setup. I wouldnt even be doing this if I didn't get such a good deal on the parts and labor. It really was just a "Oh ****, I can not pass that up" kinda thing.

Marshal,
When I was 5 I wanted a huge truck, when i was 16 I wanted a women and a huge truck, when I turned 21 I wanted a huge truck, 12 pack, a women, and a blow up bed. I am now about to turn 30, still have a full head of hair, a women, king size bed, beer on tap and a truck that can still become bigger =) Therefore the truck is going to become bigger.

Really tho, the truck is not a daily driver as I have other means of transportation. The truck is my glorified toy. When I turn 45 I hope to be competeing against big foot in each and every arena across the nation.

Well I thought I was going to be the first to have a 3" BL on a 09+ but looks like your going to beat me to it! My truck is going in to have a PA 3" BL / Yukon 4.56 gears and 38 x 13.5 Toyo's in April already have all the parts in my garage. Can't wait to see pic's, also let me know if you run into issues or tips. Wow 14" lift......insane!

I actually like that look man, the big on 38's. Tire choice becomes limited at 40's. Either way it will still be a hell of a nice truck! Just as it is now. Great work.

I plan to have some pics up mid next week or so I hope. The truck is currently in the shop because the pinion angle out back is messed up and the shudder at 15-20mph and 55-62mph is overly annoying. With boat season just around the corner this is something that has to be corrected before I feel comfortable towing. The body lif and bumpers are all scheduled to be done by tuesday so I should have some updated progress pics or whatnot by then.

How are they going to do the bumpers? I know it comes with a kit to do them, but is it different with those big heavy aftermarket ones?
