A couple of weeks ago, the engineer at the ecoboost teardown live chat, said the EB would have the 36 gal. tank as an option.
Ford website, still say 26 gal. only for the EB.
Anyone have fact on this? Can we have the 36 gal. or are we stock with the 26 gal.?

Who knows? As of a few days ago F-150 Chief Engineer Eric Kuehn said it was "currently" not available. Ford is coming out with a job 3 for the Super Duty next week. So hopefully they will take action on the F-150 next.

I have been doing a lot of dealer searches on the Ford site, looking at EB super crews. Every one on the 50 or so EB's in the greater Houston area (both 5.5' and 6.5'bed) have the "standard" gas tank listed on the window sticker. It does not list the size, so I am guessing it is the smaller...

From what I say on the order forms, the EB comes with 26 only.

Yeah, it's not out yet. The good thing is he said wasn't currently available. If they were not going to offer it he would have just said it is not available and the other guy would not have said so specifically that it would be an option on SuperCrew. Stay tuned.

hmm. I thought I printed out some window stickers on trucks with options i wanted and they had the 36 gal tank. I'll check when I get home.

Yep, all the ones I picked out show standard tank. I also checked hundreds of dealer orders and no 36 gal tank.

Currently if you get 4x4 you automatically get the 36 gallon tank. You also currently get the 36 gallon tank with the max tow package.
The only people who need to worry about getting the 26 gallon tank with the ecoboost would be the people buying a 2 wheel drive truck without the max tow package. Even then it should still be an option.
I dont see any reason why Ford would change the way they pick the tanks for each truck. Look at the configurations of 2010 trucks with the 5.4L and 36 gallon tank. The same configurations with an eco should get the same tank.

Sounds like a lot of speculation on your part. There have been documents released by Ford specifically stating that the EcoBoost is only available with the 26 gallon tank, so I'll stick with that until I see something official from Ford stating otherwise.Originally Posted by mstang66guy

I heard the reason there won't be a 36 gallon fuel tank on the truck in question is because of the configuration of the exhaust system.

My ecoboost truck does not have the 36 gallon tank listed on the window sticker... I have not filled it up yet, so I dont know for sure.
