There could be some truth to this as Ford uses the fuel to cool and lubricate the fuel pump. In my 04 I had a 30 gallon tank and would run it down to e and only put 20~22 gallons of gas in it.

Dude, it was a joke (notice the smiley at the end)! Lighten up! The 60 extra lbs of 10 more gallons of gas won't make a hill of beans worth of difference in a 6k lb truck, and if you don't know that, then you couldn't get any dumber "hearing" (did you read it out loud?) my comment.

It's all good. I'm jealous of all you folks contemplating the EB...wish I were in the market for a new F150. Enjoy them!

I have never owned a vehicle that didn't have a "cushion" when the needle hits E. I have a 25 gallon tank, and if I run it down to E it takes about 22 gallons. The low fuel light comes on when the needle is just above E and it takes 21.

I had an old Escort, the first year out I think. I ran out of gas when the needle was still on the E line. First time it happened I didn't believe it. Second time it happened I vowed to never run out of gas again. That was 30 years ago now, and I haven't run dry on any vehicle since.

*ON* the E, I can believe that. Not all gauges will go below E!
