why are 2010 FX4s still so expensive?

Hey guys, well Im finding out that 2010s, (specifically FX4 in my case) are so expensive. I mean I saw several '10 FX4s with the same features as a new '11 FX4, and they where the same price?! that confuses me. I thought theyd be lowering prices to get rid of thier 2010 stock to make room for 2011s. During ford truck month (I think its june?) do the prices drop drastically? becuase when I got my XLT, i got it for alomst $13K cheaper than sticker, last year. thanks!

They wont post the lower prices because most car buyers are inexperienced and have no idea what the difference between the 10 and 11 is except one model year. If you go in there and start talking like you know what your getting it should be easy to get ATLEAST $10,000 off.

You are going to take a bath trying to trade a 10 in on a 10.

Where are you located?

Right now in Canada Ford's incentives on the 2010's they have 8000.00 delivery allowance and 1000.00 Ford financing credit, 1000.00 discount cash for Costco members
and up to 2300.00 retire your ride incentive for a running beater 2003 or older that has been insured for the last 6 months.

Ford's incentives on the 2011 F150's is 1000.00 delivery allowance and 0% financing for up to 72 months plus the financing, Costco and recycle your ride.

Are you referring to me? If so, I got the XLT screw for 22,000 tax and title in June of last year, but now I can afford an FX4 and am looking for deals

Well it's valued at 23,000 to 24,000 on Kelly blue book, and the dealerships claim to match that price

Betcha if they match that price, you aren't going to get any discounts off the sticker other than the rebates on the new one.

Well if they do offer Kelly & based on what he paid, less rebates/offers on '10 he will do alright. They surprised me on my '09 trading it in. Even went deeper than rebates, x-plan & hold back on the '11 too.

There is a true cost that the dealer will not loose money on a sale. That is within a couple hundred bucks difference from the 2010's to 2011's. They only give you 8-10k off if they are getting it back from Ford corp in the form of rebates and incentives. That is why vehicle deals have been so good during this bad economy. Because the manufacturers have stimulated the market by providing the 0% financing and cash incentives. If they stuck to MSRP or even invoice cost dealers wouldn't be selling cars in this economy. GM, Dodge, and Ford is paying us to buy these trucks. Just wait to see how much fuel goes up this summer. With $4 a gallon predicted new truck sales are already suffering.
