Interesting, shows the Ecoboost engine is the way to go for towing and street racing. Guess the 6.2L comes up short because of it's additional weight of the motor and the options the 6.2L requires.

Just love my brother's Buick Grand National. That little 3.8L is a bit deceiving. We raced a Mustang 5.0 and the guy just gave up.

From looking at those numbers the 6.2 is king!

Umm, no. Look more carefully at the averaged runs. The EB and 6.2 are virtually equal and the 5.0 ain't far behind. The hemi is a tad slower than the 5.0 and even the 3.7 NA V-6 beats the GM 5.3.

Most engines with a turbo require more maintenance. I would bet the 6.2 is going to be a tougher engine in the long run than the smaller turbo powered engine.

Unless something has changed, a turbo lubrication uses the same oil at the engine does. A turbo operates at a very high temperature and requires the oil and filters to be changed more often. I'm not sure if there is new technology I am not aware of but that has been the facts about turbo powered engines in general.

Lots of problems with that chart, like it does not list the cab and 2WD/4WD. A regular cab 2WD 3.7L against a crew cab 4WD 5.3L? We don't know. You can be certain a 3.7L regular cab 2WD will be measurably quicker than a 3.7L 4WD Supercab. But it is the best we have so far until the auto journalists get to test them.

Read this article on Ford's website. Great EB information... though not F150 specific.

That is true, but if you take the fastest time posted the 6.2 won the race with a 7.9. I think on a 1/4 race though the EB might be faster looking at the mph. I bet the 60 foot of the 6.2 is quicker while the EB is building boost.

Nice to know Ford has some heavy hitters now!

Turbos have come a long way from your antiquated thinking! The EB turbos are cooled by engine coolant not oil!.....

Are you talking fastest between 3.5 Ecoboost, 5.0L 6.2L?

Ford did it against the Hemi and Chevy 5.3L.
