I tried a search but can anyone tell me if the Raptor boards fit the FX4 and any opinions on how it would look? (trying to avoid the painted stock bars and no chrome)

 

I don't see why they would not fit.. cabs on both models appear to be the same. I'm sure you'll pay through the nose for those step boards though!

 

They should fit. The supercab boards are $412.50 each side, I would guess the supercrew ones will be slightly more.

YOWSA!! I just saw them on our Canadian site listed as an option for $700
per side!! I guess that makes the decision easier

 

Here's what I did if you want the running board look instead of the bars. Used boards off of a King Ranch coated in Line-X

Those are nice boards, but not $800 nice.

 

I'm a fan of no running boards, nerf bars, or any visible step it's a much cleaner look without them. Just get yourself some electric steps from amp research, I have them and love them to death.. Then again if you divide the price by 2 they cost about as much as the raptor boards

 

I wonder who makes the boards for Ford, it'd be nice if we could get them straight from the supplier!!

 

I have an FX4 also and have been wanting to see how these look. I am avoiding chrome like the plague. Not to mention, the Raptor boards are very low profile, as opposed to some other options that seem to hang halfway to the ground.

My only concern is how far they stick out. It looks good on the Raptor given the 3.5" flared fenders, but not sure how it will look on the less aggressive FX4. It might just be my imagination, they may not stick out any further than standard steps.

Aggie dude. You got any advice on installing the KR running boards? I bought a pair from someone and putting them on 2010 XL screw.

Weird thing is I have 11 bolts and then 11 bolts with a clip. Can't figure out which bolts go where and if I have enough.

Do you find the bedliner spray really a good idea (peel off in the future?).

Yea they were pretty annoying to figure out how to install them. But once I figure it out the rest went on like butter. I assume you mean 11 per side and 22 total? That's what I had. Basically if you hold up the board to the underside of the truck you can see where they attach. I didn't see the holes at first because there was tape covering them. You clip the speed nuts into the holes, then hold the brackets up to the holes, and thread the bolt into the speed nut and tighten. I'll try to take pics but I can't until Monday.

And I went with Line-X and it is perfect. Find yourself a good shop to spray it. It looks great with no peel and has good grip so you don't slip.

Ahhhh should there be 22 of everything? I have 22 nuts but only 11 of the little angle bracket things. Ford parts house says they only come with the entire running board package. I'm thinking that I may just need to find stainless or galvanized bolts the right size and then make do. Found all the holes, now just gotta figure out a way to securly attach. Thx for your help in figuring out the puzzle.

 

you can use the speed clips for the upper holes, and just use a set of nuts and bolts for the bottom ones. That's what I had to do when I was missing one of the clips.
