2011 Window Stickers and Fuel Economy

Figured some of you might want this info:

17/23 3.7L 4x2 Supercab/6.5' 3.73
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...EW1CM8BFA04726

17/23 3.7L 4x2 Supercab/6.5' 3.73
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...EX1CMXBFA18205

15/21 5.0L 4x2 Crew/5.5', 3.55
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...FW1CF2BFA03898

14/19 5.0L 4x4 Crew/5.5', 3.73 Locker
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...FW1EF6BFA04727

14/19 5.0L 4x4 Crew/5.5', 3.73 Locker
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...FW1EF8BFA03899

14/19 5.0L 4x4 Crew/5.5' 3.73 Locker
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...FW1EF0BKD00771

13/18 6.2L 4x2 Crew 5.5' 3.73
http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...FW1C63BFA17423

Note all the 4x4 trucks above have the 3.73 rear end, which isn't particularly good for mileage.

I thought the 5.0 was supposed to get ~20% better fuel mileage than the 5.4? The 2010 5.4 in Screw 4x4 3.73 is rated at 14/18, not much difference....

No, Ford put out that the new engines will get UP to 20% better fuel mileage than their predecessors. Ford made no claim that any one engine will produce any specific type improvements. If you go from the bottom up. The 3.7 is the replacement for the 4.6 2 valve, the 5.0 is the replacement for the 4.6 3 valve, and the 3.5 is the replacement for the 5.4. The 6.2 is not a main line engine as it is only offered in a very limited number of trucks and configurations.

That first sticker is for a 4x2 Supercrew which proves that you CAN get a 3.7 in a crew cab! We have this particular discussion going in another thread.

Good job, Droid. Do you have anymore? I'm interested in the 3.7L 4x4, and 6.2L 4x4 CrewCab.

So I guess they lied to me at the test drive event. In any event, I would not want the base V-6 in a truck as heavin as the Screw.

I believe the company line was: "The all new fleet of engines in the 2011 F150's with a 20% increase in fuel economy".

I caught the detail early on, that is why the EPA rating (and window decals) was so important yet missing.

I can't believe they're not putting the 6.2 in the XL. They are usually work trucks.

Because the 3.5 is the workhorse that is replacing the 5.4

Keep in mind it looks like these are for Canada. I've heard they have a slightly different method for coming up with their MPG numbers. I mean, 50k for a King Ranch? Dear Lord... how much does a Platinum cost? 60k? Utterly ridiculous. I sure hope the average salary in canada is that much higher

At any rate, I still bet even the EcoBoost only gets 17cityMPG. If MPG is a concern, best to buy a different type of automobile altogether, for sure.

Nope, those are US stickers.

And historically people who buy XL work trucks go for the cheaper, smaller engines. The 3.7 is going to be the mainstay in that market. Like I've said in several other threads, CAFE requirements is what's limiting 6.2 availability. Other than in the Raptor and Harley (both high buck specialty trucks) the only others that are getting it are high end models with the max tow option.

These are US trucks. In Canada, mileage is quoted in L/100km not mpg and the warranties are quoted in kilometers not miles.

That is reality. Platinum is over $60k. We pay 50% more for gasoline too! Incomes are similar for the most part.

Pass the vasoline

Thanks for posting Droid

Don't forget the much higher taxes to support our "free health care".

Even if it is only 17 city, that's a 21% increase from 14, but I think it could be higher, and probably around 20+ mixed driving.

If mpg was the only concern, maybe. Cars are just cars with car capabilities. I actually need a truck for hauling, and 4wd in the winter.

Are you still looking to trade in your F-150 for a Fusion/MKZ Hybrid or Focus?
