2011 f150 ??
ETA: Jan-Feb 2011
Unfortunately, Ford Motor Company announced that due to this question being asked repeatedly in new threads in this most popular F-150 forum, that they have decided to delay the trucks into 2011 itself just to enrage those asking said question even further.
When will the 5.4L be replaced?
Will the new engines make their power on premium?
If I recall the 2011 production started this month correct?
I just drove by the old Ford Wixom assembly (LS, Thunderbird, Town Car plant).
They must have at least 3,000 trucks sitting there, security guards and temporary lighting the entire parking lot, the east side lot that is on Wixom Rd.
Many dealer lots are still stuffed with 2010's I've been shopping, a bit, the Ford Dealer in Redford had 90 in September, today they still have over 70, I've run across 2010's with build dates of October, very odd indeed, if they waited until March/April couldn't they just start calling them 2012's!?

I find this interesting. There are a ton of 2010 models on lots here too. Not so for Dodge or Chevy. Who is going to buy these? It seems the ridiculously large discounts have flattened out and are not much more than they were when I got mine in January. I would pay a few thousand more for a 2011 without even thinking about it. The engines are that much better. After months of huge discounts, a ton of 2010s have been purchased. Who will buy the remainder?

The 2011's may be sitting in the plant yards, but engineering hasn't released them yet.
The reason there are so many 2010's around is they kept building them after everyone else shut the lines down for changeover.

Wonder when they'll release them?? Cause mines one of them and I want it!!!

Yes, that should have been understood, everyone knows typical domestic "change-over" is in July, when I stated, "I've run across 2010's with build dates of October" its without debate that they continued to make the 2010's way beyond the normal switch. (likely due to all the powertrain changes, which engineering may have a say in) But once the 2011's start showing up, is when they really have to incentivize the 2010's
Now some may not care, I'll give you that, but if they don't know, they've been living under a rock.
For $3,000 I'd likely buy a 2010 too, if I needed a truck now, but since my current truck hasn't got a new home for about another 6 months, any savings would be ate-up by the additional insurance, plate and cost of money, not to mention, my mother-in-law flew south for the winter, so we have her car, I need 2 cars, I have 3, buying a 2010 now would give me 4.
I'd have to disagree, Ford has been promoting the new engine line and MPG increase all over, and the trucks aren't even out yet, on the radio, October was the new Super-Duty, November started the 2011 F-150 ads. Ford has been doing the road-shows, which local TV/Radio/Newspapers eat-up, among other things I've saw, on both local and national level.

I have to agree with tstjohn. I would be willing to bet somewhere around 70 percent doesn't know or care about the new engines and will buy the cheaper truck. Of course everyone on here wants the new motors but if you are on this web site your obviously an enthusiast. The average joe is going to see two trucks that look exactly alike and by the 2010.
