Vibration/shudder in 2010 Platinum
I have the same truck, & the same issues you mentioned here... What did they find with the ticking in the door, & also the vobration? I mention it at every service interval at the dealer, but every time, they say it's normal because they had it happen on another one on the lot. My brother was a service manager at the dealer, & now he works at Ford of Canada in Warranty claims, & he hasn't had any luckfinding anything on it. I'm leaning towards a driveshaft issue as opposed to tire/rims, as the vibration hasn't changed since day 1, even with tire rotations.
I think its horrible they can't do anything for you.
Did they ever try a set of tires on it other than balancing yours how ever many times?
I balanced mine numerous times, even a road force...still vibrated...
Changed tires out...Vibration... GONE.
Smooth as glass now.
Demand they change the tires.
Or atleast try a set of base model 17's with the soft Dynopro's to verify...

IF you have a bad tire....rotating them will do nothing! Balancing them will do NOTHING. the only fix is either finding the bad tire, and replacing....and it could be more then on bad tire, or just replacing all of them. Im surprised more ppl dont look closer at their tires as the culprit...they are only gobs of rubber..im sure nothing can ever be wrong with them

Mine went to a new dealer a week and a half ago with still no improvement. Both sets of wheels/tires have been ruled out, the drive shaft was sent out for balancing, the axles check out fine, diff is ok. They are waiting to hear back from engineering as to the next step.
I can say it's very, very nice to have found a dealer who actually takes your concerns to heart and does everything they can to correct the problem. Lets hope they can actually fix the problem.

What a bugger.
I have a 2010 FX4 SCrew with a horrible vibration. It came with 20in Wheels and Pirellis. Had them swapped for 18in aftermarket and Revo2's, still bad ride. I had heard that 20in wheels have a worse ride then 18's so I thought that was the problem. Have had them balanced 6 times, road forced twice and swapped out the tires with another brand new set, no joy.
Dealership says "its a truck!" &I^%& that. I have owned 7 ford trucks since 98' and NONE drove like this. My 07' Lariat was very smooth. Ordered another set of wheels (went OEM so the dealership can take a whack at it, said it was the wheels or tires, not their problem) and see if that helps. They did some work on the rotors and didn't help. Still in the early stages with Ford. Hopefully I will get this problem worked out. I have placed an order for a 2011 Lariat and will lose $5K on it, but this is rediculous. Seems to be a common problem. I will drive the new one for a week before I sign anything. ALL (4X4 SCrews) the ones on the lot drive sooooooooo smooth. This is BS!
Still love Fords though. Only bad one in 7 trucks. Would like to get it resolved though. I have had it 5 monthes almost and I can't stand to drive it. Worst riding vehicle I have ever owned.

I just read all of these posts. Knock on wood, I dont have any issues with my F150 but absolutely know the frustrations of dealing with clueless dealers, thats one of the things that got me into a F150. It seems pretty obvious that the driveline needs to be perfect at all times as different guys have had different issues and in some cases they seem to have multiple issues. The only advice I would offer is, no matter what company your dealing with, the consistent and level headed customer seems to get the most results. Good luck fellas!
