Can someone with with bilsteins chime in here and let us know if the new shocks have cured any vibration problems?

It may help this theory out from Schaibaa's service manager (from previous post):

"Anyway, service manager has a theory that the shocks rebound way too quickly almost like an undampened spring - so a slight imperfection in the road causes some vibration, and by the time it settles you've alrady hit another slight vibration setting it off again. Not sure what to think about that one except that if that was the case I'd think the vibration to be much slower. Mine was around 14hz and I'd expect too much rebound to happen just 1 or 2 "bounces" - not 14hz for a few seconds."

Here's the other wrinkle in the story ---

I hadn't driven my F150 more than ~20 miles without parking it until yesterday. I drove it about 40-45 miles at a time, and I normally drive slow (like 65, max 70) but I got it up to 80-85 a time or two. Anyway, towards the middle/end of the drive I noticed that the vibration wasn't phasing in and out.

So... could my problem be tires? I'm not really sure but it is interesting! If you do some searching on 'pirelli scorpion atr vibration' you'll get lots of owners complaining. Everyone says they flat spot for a mile or two, but mine seem to be much longer than that.

The other 'theory breaker' is that my vibration seems to phase in and out around 60mph ... but gets less severe at higher speeds. I suppose this could be a tire balance issue - although I'm still leaning towards a drive shaft balance problem.

I ended up buying 4 new 35 inch General Grabber AT/2's on 18 inch wheels. I eneded up having a shudder through the whole truck AND steering wheel between 55-70...after 70 it actually got a little better, but was still there. I ended up going back to the shop and they rebalanced it. There was still a vibration at the same speeds. I decided i'll go for a Road Force Balance. They did all 4 tires...took about 2 hours...and guess what....Vibration was still there, just not as bad. I went back to the original shop and they warrantied out ALL 4 tires...put 4 new ones on. The truck now drives like its on glass! Youd be surrised how many tires make it out of a facility which cause issues! manufactures figure its better to just take a chance that the tires will balance and not vibrate....and if they do...then they will get them back anyway. this is if the person who has the issue will figure out its the tire. oh, and i also have my truck lifted 6 inchs....and i know it wasnt the lift causing this shake

I still have the same problem as Ford continues to refuse to investigate the issue any further. I have been in contact with a few others with similar issues and I ask that anyone with similar issue please contact me. Hopefully through this website we can help each other out.

At this point I plan to see an attorney soon but I've been too busty with work to deal with it.

I will post any new details when they occur.

I dropped mine off at the dealership tonight to try to get them to find that vibration again along with some other minor issues. Mine is very repeatable by putting the transmission in 3rd gear and drive it at 1800-2000 rpm. The vibration also shows up in Drive at highway speeds at around 1800-2000 rpm but do to the speed it is less obvious. You can really feel it in the steering wheel, the pedals and you hear sort of a drone with it. I posted most of this previously but thought I would put it up again.

This is the thread I was looking for a month ago....

It has inspired me to e-mail my dealer and tell them to figure out what is wrong with my new truck.

I to have the same issue. I get a vibration at about 75-85kph. and again at 120kph. I drove 2 other trucks at the dealer and they did the same thing.... I think.

Its hard to tell... Its so much like rough pavement, but it has to much "rhythm" if you will, and is far to constitant...

Its like the thing is chugging.. I to have changed tires...3 times! and balanced the current set 2 times...and finally a road force to convince ford its not my tires!!!!!

That shock theory above is something I've thought of. I've been trying to find a set of AM shocks, but I just bought the friggin truck...why should I have to change the shocks out already? Its only got 9000km on it, I noticed the problem in the 2000km.

Its very annoying, and I got to the point I think they convinced me its just something the truck does...

If this is true, I'll never buy a ford again..

But I don't think it is so..... I have this itch.. Its that goofy drive shaft with the bubble gum soft rubber hanger bearing...POS.

If I can be any help or I find out anything, I'll be letting you fellers know asap.

By emailing the president of the dealer where I got my truck, got me somewhere I think..

They are going to contact engineering and see what they have to say. My truck is also going in, and I get an appointment date tomorrow.

Monday the truck goes in.

They will be changing the tires and performing test drives...

If that doesn't work, they will be checking the axles...

If thats not it, they are going to perform the drive shaft shim TSB...

Has anyone else gotten anywhere? Or am I talking on a dead thread?

Mine goes in tomorrow as well for the "shudder". I Think mines tied into the hanger bearing. I pounded some shims in there and it was way better. My passenger seat doesn't shake near as much and the additional vibrating seems to disipate faster.

I'm taking the shims back out tonight so the service manager can see the difference.

Were all 3 set put on the same rims? Rims can be inferior also.

I balanced mine 3 times also....with one RF balance....and they said...here you go..everything shows perfect! then i replaced everything...rims and tires...and its like glass now.

All 3 sets were put on the same rims.

I'll be sure to tell my dealer that on mon.

They frown at me when I bring the forums up, and all the other vibrations that are happening..

This forum has been more help then them until this point.

Any updates here? Mine still vibrates -- I think it's tires though. I've considered going with some new ones, but ~$1300 for Michellin LTX/MS on a new vehicle sucks.

Pounding shims in the hanger bushing is a good one too... I may try that.
