Yep.....6.0 Diesel Powerstroke will eat a man's bank account right up if your not careful....

My 2010 F-150 listed for 38,000 Now its a 4x4 but only the XLT...they had 6,500 rebate on it...another 1,000 if you Financed it through Ford and another 1,000 year end clearance

So put mine at 31,500....Plus I got 1.9 %

May not be the fastest truck on the road....But at 50 now I don't need all that speed. Love having a Nice truck...Speed...I have a Polaris RZR for that....hehehehehhe

Can anyone tell me where i can purchase a "Gotts air intake". i seem to be having some trouble trying to locate a distributer in my area. im in NJ. preferably someone who can install it as well. secondly, im told on this forum the PHP programmer works well. does anyone have any comparisons of the PHP to Superchips. i have a 150.00 credit with superchips but uncertain as to which route to take.

LOL, you don't have to purchase it, you already have it! Go out and remove the driver's side headlight by removing the three bolts (two up top and one behind the rubber flap in front) then loosen the pipe clamp and remove the top of the air box (don't forget to pull the red tab on the MAF sensor and detach that first). Pull the air filter out and look inside, you'll see a piece of odd shaped plastic attached to the inlet of the air box. Looking through the hole where you pulled the headlight out, you can see the perforated plastic cone part that is attached. Now pry that off and voila, you've just performed the Gott's Mod. If you want, you can even saw off the cone part and reattach a 3" piece of PVC or even a Velocity Stack to it and stick it back on the air box. Button everything back up and you'll have what is believed to be a better breathing intake with a slightly better throttle response and a few more ponies added on the top end. I did this and added a K&N drop in to mine, and it feels a tad bit peppier. You're never going to get rid of the big culprit though, the drive by wire throttle, unless you go with a tuner.

Here are some pics of mine. Excuse the dirt, I went mudding a few months before I did the mod.

Remove these three black bolts:

Pull the red tab on the MAF towards you and pull the sensor off of the intake tube.

Undo these clips (3 in all)

Pull the air filter out and you will see this.

And this is what I did after I pulled the cone out and cut it.

I robbed some parts off an old intake, cut the elbow to size and clamped it back onto the plastic where I made my cut. Then I popped it back onto the air box.

You could get sprint booster if your really that concerned with the throttle response. In my eyes it's a waste of money but it may make you happy with your purchase.

Yes, im guilty of owning chipped deisels, AMG Benz's, motorcycles, and so forth but compared to what im used to...its a pooch. for those of you who have'nt had the experience of driving a vehicle that impresses you...well, then i feel for you. To those of you who support my feelings and actually know what im saying, then yes, had i known about the 6.0, i would've waited. then again, the first year is never a good one so maybe its best to deal with it and move on in 2 years. can we now end this thread.......
Man, this war always wages on here. If you say anything about wanting more power or speed then you're an idiot and need to drive a Vette or Stang. I agree that Ford dropped the ball in the programming of the engines. They are dog *** slow and shift like crap for anyone who wants a bit of pep in the drive. I have a Stang too, but I like a little sport in my truck for when I am driving wihtout something loaded in it.

Why, to save your environment??? .......Yea, right the USA must get into compliance and we just sell the old stuff to the other countries so they can pollute? Make no sense.

Supercharge that puppy. Edelbrock is making a nice supercharger for the late model trucks. The Gotts and tuner will help some, but if you want 400 hp/450 ft. lbs. you need boost.

There nothing wrong with wanting more power. But you can only expect so much from a vehicle what weights what the truck weights and has a 5.4 liter engine. If you go and work out bhp per liter on the f150 you will see it's up there with the best of them and it's at the end of it's life! For 99% of people the 5.4 has more than enough power. The other 1% have a few choices. modifications, wait for bigger engine or buy a truck with a bigger engine. Moaning about it after you bought it and test drove it is pointless as you knew what you were buying before you purchased it.

Also I wouldn't say they shift like crap! The last gen def shifted like crap compaired to the 09/10 models. They are without doubt the best shifting truck I have driven out of all the new models. Ain't driven the GMC but It must be identical to the chevy.

After ford destroyed the powerstroke with 13 mpg and fuel prices up, lastly 2 head gasket repairs...i got rid of it. at that time i vowed to never buy another ford. i test drove all the other trucks except for the Jap mods. the hemi had a very nice motor and the GM/Chevy was 2nd. the ford motor sucks as does the throttle response. I ended up with a 2010 f150 4x4 crew cab with a 6.5' bed and the 5.4. with the 373 rear. The sticker was $48.000.00 i paid $44,000.00 here in NJ. 2 reasons i bought the ford, cargo room in the cabin and 0% financing. About me, im an retired GP motorcycle racer. now at 49 yrs old i still know and love speed which is why im so utterly dissapointed with the motor in my truck. my deisel's in the past have all had at least 400hp & 400ft lbs torque with mods. this f150 is a dog. by the time it gets up & goes, you could easily be dead from another vehicle crashing into you. with all this said, i recently put a leveling kit on the front and im thinking about a few mods to this to improve anything regarding throttle response. Here's where i could use some input. i was told the exhaust is severly restricted. they say to change from from the cat back. my concern is i dont want a loud system and when one does a better flowing system one should do a better breathing system...NO? which intake is the best for this pooch. lastly does anyone have any input on superchips programmers. i used it on my deisels. there's a few programs but i dont want to have to use 91 octane, that 'll get expensive as this pooch averages about 13 or 14 mpg as it is now. im having trouble believing anyone is getting 22 with this engine. either way, if you have helpful input,i'd appreciate it.
You must be merging into traffic on the autobahn? My truck is only an 04 model which is slightly slower than the 10 models and i've never had a problem with merging into traffic. Believe me i've been in some crazy situations while driving through rush hour traffic in Denver,Dallas,Salt Lake City and Los Angeles and i've never felt like my truck was too slow to keep up. Your comparing a diesel with a turbo charger running around 35lbs of boost to a naturally aspirated 5.4 gas motor of course the gas motor is gonna be weaker but in stock form even a diesel truck can only run a high 15 to low 16 second quarter mile time. Take that turbo off the diesel and see how pathetic that motor will be or add a turbo to the 5.4 and enjoy the outcome. With that said get a tuner for your truck and that throttle lag will be gone. Our trucks don't respond as well to a tuner like a diesel does but it's definately a noticeable difference.

Just wanted to say one more thing. I had the truck leveled by a friend who runs a local auto body shop. he drives an older f150. im not certain what year it is but its definately at least 2 body styles old which im assuming has to be at least 10 yrs ago. Anyway, he wanted to drive the truck to see how it handled with the leveling kit. It was hot that day so the a/c was on. After numerous attempts to "haul ***" he finally gave up and commented on how slow the truck is. Again today he commented to on eof his co-workers when i was there. Apparently his older ford goes much better than mine. Either way, I'm done.....Thanks again everyone

So your friends 10 year old f150 was faster than your 2010? Funny that because my heavy as crap 2009 can beat my friends 2004 f150 to 60 with out issue and his truck is much lighter than mine. Funny thing is my friends truck feels like it's going much faster than mine because of the rough ride and loud engine noise.

I bought a 2010 f150 cc with 3v 4.6 and thought it had enough power- until I drove my friends ram cc with a hemi. Wow!! Needless to say I am now driving a 2010 ram cc with a hemi and the power is scary-awesome!! Before I get jumped on I did test drive a 5.4 f150 but the price was rediculous considering it was only 40 more HP than the 4.6 as well as compared with the deal I got on the ram. I'm looking forward to what the 2011 f150 does and will probably return to ford in 2012 (don't want to buy a 'first-year' motor). Btw rtr, the ram you drove probably had 3.92 gears as the 4.10 is only available in the RT reg cab truck. I'm sorry your truck is a dog but you might consider swapping in better gears, a tuner, and new exhaust to make it peppy- or buy a Ram.

I came from a 2007 Tundra with the 381 HP 5.7 L engine. Yeah, the F150 doesn't have the same power, but it seems much more refined and not as jumpy as the Tundra. I actually prefer it.
