iPhone>USB=No You tube
Not sure if something needs to be enabled or activated but when I plug my iPhone into the stock USB port I can not play Youtube videos but I here the Youtube sound through the truck's speaker system.
Is this some kind of safety feature?

Probably can't view anything while in motion. Try it with the truck in Park, possibly with the parking brake set. I don't own the Sony NAV system, but most NAV units work this way unless you have them reprogrammed or "trick" them into thinking you're parked by altering the wiring.
Your trying to get a video to play through a non nav system! It don't even work with the nav system so it ain't gonna work with the non nav system. Or are you trying to get the audio to play through the system?
You lost me on that one, bud. How would you watch video without the screen? Do you have an overhead entertainment system?

like F150Aggie hinted at, try it connected with the bluetooth audio instead.
SoonerTruck is right, b/c the Sync system looks like a complete AV system to the iphone, it is sending all data (audio and video) to the sync system. I would imagine that all Apple-designed applications will function similarly (i.e. why you can't view videos in iPod app when it's plugged into the sync system)

It's the same way on my aftermarket head unit. If I plug in my iPhone and load up a youtube video, the audio comes out my truck's speakers, but the video is not displayed on the iPhone. It's just how it is.

Are you just trying to charge it? Why have it plugged in? for the Audio? If you are trying to charge it and watch videos, charge it the old school way through the cig lighter, then it shouldnt mix up the output signals...
