In dire need of an X Plan PIN

This is to any Ford Employees out there that have an X-Plan PIN to spare.

I ordered a brand new vehicle from my dealer (where I have bought vehicles from in the past) and it has come in. It's sitting on the lot, but the dealer is giving me a crazy price and won't budge because he knows I need the truck bad.

I have tried the Blue Oval forums with no luck yet. So, I thought I would give this board a shot.

Thanks if you can help!

What kind of truck? Why is it a crazy price? Right now the F-150s are all selling at a bargain, without the X-plan pin. I got better than X-plan pricing when I bought mine.

It's actually an Expedition EL. Dealer says there are so few being made these days that they are selling close to MSRP. I think he is talking out is rear end. The problem is I need the vehicle by Monday and he knows it

This is my third Ford from him, other two are 150s. I thought he would have been more fair on the price or I would have arranged to find a PIN much sooner.

There is your problem. He knows you need it and he wont budge. Tell him to move on the price or you're walking away. Your the one with the money, so he needs YOU. Not the other way around

You ordered the truck without an agreed price?

I'm not sure what the "EL" version of the Expedition is. However, I've bought several Fords from a local dealer and have been satisfied. However, if they were not going to budge on a vehicle for me, I'd simply go somehwere else, because one of the 25 plus dealerships in the area will have a similar/same vehicle, or can order me one and will budge on price. Maybe you don't have that luxury.

Yeah SMOKEin. Was always given what I wold consider fair prices in the past. With 400 million things to do, and this being just one of them, I figured (incorrectly) we could agree on a fair price once again, my bad.

Raptor, true but my wife will be none to pleased when she has to carry three kids on her back to school come Monday morning

Any other dealers near by you could contact? Tell them there is a truck on another lot you would like to consider buying. Have them obtain the invoice information on it and see if they can work a trade. If the jacka** dealer thinks you're shopping elsewhere maybe they will become more motivated.

I'd rent a car for a few days and work on the deal - this way you wont have to worry about the Monday deadline and cave in.......

I'd go buy another car. X plan isn't your best price. You can negotiate better about anywhere else. Send me the vin# and I'll look up the invoice and see what the true cost is.

I agree with the renting the car and not caving in to a deadline.

Let that be a lesson to you.

Here is a suggestion. Before you buy an Expedition from another dealer, make sure you stop in by him first and tell him that out or courtesy. Politely make it clear your not there to buy the vehicle, just to let him know and ask to see the sticker for comparison to the one your on your way to by elsewhere. I think you'll be surprised at his reaction. Leave it up to him to change your mind. Make sure you know the cost of that vehicle when you stop in. Provide more detail, and I'll get you a good number to work with.

If he holds to his arrogance, then buy one elsewhere and ensure you stop in to see him with that vehicle and show him the sales receipt. There is always another truck out there.

Used vehicle prices are still high, extremely high, but new prices are still favorable. I just negotiated the purchase of a new vehicle for a friend yesterday. She paid $1 more for the new one than she was looking to pay for a used one. She signed at $200 more than dealer cost, which was a couple hundred under invoice. It can be done if you know where that sweet spot is. It was really nice that she got a good deal, but my real reward was to beat another smart talking sales manager at his own game.

I don't think anyone can really beat a Sales Manager at his/her own game. They have many tricks and will make money, you just won't know. The key is to agree to a deal that is fair for all involved.

I won't even get into the used market. That has to be one of the most corrupt businesses out there, aside from politicians.
