In dire need of an X Plan PIN
I think the solution either way, is GO TO ANOTHER DEALER! X-plan helps cut out the BS if you start fresh. And if you had your heart set on a truck that's on their lot, have the other dealer transfer it in! It's the best revenge for those bastidges.
I just pulled an invoice on a 2010 Expy EL limited 2wd. MSRP 53,530, invoice 50,635, X plan 50,740. So there is not a lot of mark up on Expys, there was 1580 in hold back money. Most dealers will do invoice and keep 500 of hold back these days to sell units. There were 6 pages of EL's in our region, maybe CA is different...
It is interesting that some dealers are starting to realize the power of the internet. When I bought my Mustang recently, I shot a deal out to the manger and didn't mention holdback, but the price I offered took out $800 of their $1,200 holdback. He acknowledge that needed to keep his $400 of holdback, even though I neve told him I know what the holdback was or he amount. That was fair to me, especially because I got $2K more than KBB (retail) value for my trade.
X-Plan when I bought my truck was Invoice - 0.4% - $1000 additional rebate. This was February, so it may be different now. I'm surprised to see an X-Plan price above invoice.
They showed me something that looked similar to what you included - showing Invoice, A & D and X Plan pricing. X Plan was a bit lower than invoice, and there was also an extra $1k rebate at the time for X-Plan as well.
A,Z and D are for employee, retiree, family etc. Those are truly good deals that go well below invoice. Ford has gotten very strict on who is using them because it costs them money. The rebates are always a separate deal. I almost ended up in an XLT bacause there was another 1,000 XLT rebate on top of 3,500 in customer, dealer cash and truck month spiff. But I had to have that Fx4...
