Women lie about their age, men lie about what they paid for their vehicles.

daveel,

You are right. That is why I went ahead and got the EW when they lowered it to $1,200. We know these new vehicles are loaded with electronics that are very expensive to replace and they will break. It is a matter of when, not it, just as the case with your laptop or PC.

And I thought men just lied about how much beer they could drink!

Getting into trouble with the wife on a vehicle purchase is more common than you would think.

Salesman have burned me in the past. I was firm when I told one that I wanted to buy the cheapest thing he had on 4 wheels and he sold it to me.

When I got home my wife hit the roof,
"You idiot! You bought the mechanics creeper!"

Oh sure, the mileage was great but, merging onto the highway was a nightmare.

For every good deal out there, there is a bad deal. If they gave all good deals, they would not be in business. Your deal sounds fair. Don't obsess over ads in the paper or what others paid. Every deal is different. Lots of factors, age of inventory, demand, color, time of the month, dealer money.....and these things change everyday....so you cannot compare.

But you need not get the warranty at the time of sale. You can get it any time before your factory warranty expires. And despite what they tell you, it is not more expensive to do so.

Just trade every three years and nothing to worry about.

I got hosed on my maint. plan too. He pulled his smoke and mirrors about how I get all this great stuff every 3000 miles. Then I read my service schedule. Nobody uses 3000 miles anymore cept Jiffy Boob.

Truck has been sitting in my driveway but I haven't driven it at all. Dealership said they'd have this all resolved Friday, but then they told me to wait until Saturday to come in so I could work with the original person who did the financing. So I should have everything resolved by tonight. I asked them Thursday about removing the maintenance plan, they said no problem.

Hopefully the wife will have this resolved to her liking and I can actually go for a drive. To all those who chimed in with opinions of the deal, thanks. With 85% saying I got a fair deal vice warranty, it made me feel a lot better.

hopefully you get your way. im glad they will dump the maintenance plan for you. that will save u some cash. i think your deal was fair as well. my deal was a little lopsided but i paid out what i needed to get out of my 07 yukon denali and into something that is more for me. in the end i paid on the high side of a new 09 XL to get out of my Denali. im still happy regardless.
