Winter Tires/Wheels on

I normally wouldn't start a thread just for this, but after I installed my winter tires/wheels, I almost like the look better than my stock factory setup...

Stock: 20" factory wheels w/Pirelli ATR

Winter: '06 Lariat 18" wheels w/black painted insets w/Cooper LTZ

And this time around, I did it all with TPMS sensors - no friggin' idiot light this winter!

Very nice, a tad over 33". Jealous too!
How much cushier is the ride with the 70's over the 55's ?
I would love to find factory rims like that somewhere near Toronto Ontario or Port Huron Michigan, so far none available for a fair price. I think they look awesome on the 09's.

Actually, they are very close to the same ride -

The 20's are 'P' rated, while the 18's ar 'LT-D' rated.
I feel a little more of the cracks etc. in the road with the 18's.

Also, am running only 42# in the 'LT'.

I like how they look also - not sure how my paint job on the wheels will hold up with the salt/sand, but I am out only $200 plus a can of paint.

That looks great. I had those wheels on my 06 XLT as part of the chrome package. They look good on the 09. The stockers ain't so bad, either.

Wow! Let me know if you find any for $200 around Michigan or Ontario!

Can you take a side profile picture?

ehh, I'm a huge fan of the new 09-10 20" wheels, they are 100% better than the 20" rims that came on 06-08's

x2, if those inserts on the 09+ 20s were painted it could look pretty damn sweet too.

Heres a fun quick PS I did of what I mean about painting the 20s a little, I also leveled the truck but somehow it did not safe, dangit, that was alot of work too.. and it looked real.

Oh my Darren - that looks just awesome!
If I had more confidence in my painting abilities, I would do that in a heartbeat - just get kind of scared with messing with such expensive wheels....

Here's a photo when I had the wheels on my '08

Looks great, that is the "chunky" tall sidewall look I am going for down the road. Kinda like the raptor's 35's on those tiny rims!

Stormtech, do you have any issues with these rims rubbing against the caliper support on the front tires? I ask becuase it seems like people are having this problem when using the 2004-08 FX4 18" rims on a 2009. I actually have the FX4 rims and have the option of trading them for some Lariat style take off rims, so I'm just wondering if you had any problems with yours. Thanks
